I hope he tucks that dollar into her thong.
I guess I am this dumb.
I have never in my life seen a $1 countersuit before.
Civil court exists to collect monetary damages from the other party.
There is no point to win a $1 countersuit other than for a moral victory.
Are you saying that Taylor needed to also win the countersuit to prove to the public that she was right? She would have done that by simply winning the regular lawsuit as a defendant.
It happens all the time, Druff. And yes, the reason is so you get an actual judgment that says you were in the right.
Obv to anyone that posts on this site this trial was propaganda. We can agree on that. But even in my most naive state there is zero chance I would ever believe her story. It's so fucking ridiculous Like you'd need to be the sheep de la sheep de la sheep to get yourself behind her here.
Toaster Racks point is that in civl court, having a judgement against you is terrible. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
Justice in a civil matter is different justice than in a criminal one.
the $1 is because it's a civil matter and has to be for SOME MONETARY amount.

Taylor Swift winning that lawsuit *against* her is a court judgement that *she* didn't do something civilly wrong. It is *not* a judgement that the "80s scumbag" did something wrong. That's what her lawsuit *against him* was meant to determine.
Also, attorneys fees the "80s scumbag" had to pay to defend myself as a plaintiff is an excellent deterrent to others who might want to fuck with her reputation in the future.
Taylor just said in an interview on E! that she wrote this song immediately after Bootygate, with her Mom Andrea, in 2014. You can't make this stuff up. It's just too much sometimes.
A music geek aside...
The drum track on this song reminded me of a Vox Pop vid about the accidental origin of gated reverb in the late 1970s, its role in pop music drum tracks back in the 80s, and more recently, including Taylor Swift's "1989", also released in 2014.
With that note... Long live the 80s!
What? You're saying he paid extra to defend a $1 countersuit? Highly doubt it.
Celebrities have dumb and frivolous lawsuits filed against them all the time. I've never seen one countersuing for $1 to prove they're right.
When a frivolous suit fails, that says it was crap in the first place, and the celebrity didn't do anything wrong. They don't need anything on top of that to prove they're "right" instead of just "not wrong".
It's dumb.
Taylor probably just wanted the headline that she won AND won the countersuit, as an added FU to this guy, knowing that will be even more sensational to report.
And that public consciousness translates in dollars in revenue in the greater pop culture industry. *Lots* of dollars. Especially for someone whose pristine professional reputation contributes towards her appeal as a modern take-no-bullshit-from-haters female role model to her fans.
is sheboon's awkward vendetta against taylor swift making anyone elses skin crawl?
