nevermind picking him first and giving up a kings ransom for him. how can you even start him. just look at his NFL throws.

all better than this
I know you're hoping for a repeat of the success of the Kapernick thread, but I think you only had one of those in you.
no he isn't...at least right now.
i've never seen a qb talked up so much, picked like this and look as bad. in that preseason game vid, he looks like an unsigned FA. and one that doesn't even look good enough for a roster spot.
those wobblers are worse than johnny footballs pro workout vid. he looks like poor mans, weaker version of colin k. w/o the good half season in him....lol......he doesn't even look like he can get his hand around the ball.
Go back and watch the highlights of the Utah Cal game last year and tell me this kid was worthy of the #1
johnny football looked awesome in his a&m games as well. he went from 100 highlight videos of awesomeness, to the workout vid where everything was exposed.
i'm not saying goff is going to be a bust, but he couldn't even beat the #2 QB coming out of the preseason and those game throws were equally if not worse than johnny workout ones.
I was able to snap that off because he was a stealth winner usually for me since then.
I never forgot where I got that tidbit.
Thx
Man, I would be soooo hesitant to take one of these Air Raid QBs with a top 5 pick. Tex Tech/La Tech/Wash St/Baylor etc. has proven that you can throw almost any decent QB in and generate huge numbers. Very hard to gauge the actual talent of these QBs
i don't know. and you're not being clear. mostly i saw in that preseason game was a skittish looking QB with a weak arm not being able to throw tight passes. he didn't look like an NFL caliber player imo, let alone a #1 pick.
that's pretty much true. a certain system will make any QB look awesome it's easy to get smitten w/ them for their college exploits, which in most cases doesn't translate to being remotely close to the NFL play because of all the other moving pieces surrounding them..
all these NFL teams see mostly the same shit we all do in this day/age
The kid literally didn't know which direction the sun rises/sets in on Hard Knocks.....and can't beat out case keenum halfway through his rookie year. Put a fork in him, he's /Jamarcus'd
as bad as the browns look for passing on wentz, how bad do the rams look for giving away all those picks for the #1 pick.... only to pick the wrong guy. lol at starting case "fucking" keenum when you have the #1 pick sitting on the bench. how is jeff fisher still employed
have any of those guys even had more than a cup of coffee in the NFL?
KKKKKKliff was with NE for awhile, I think...None of the Wazzou guys have been drafted since Leach got there if i'm remembering correctly...Will be interesting to see what Petty does with the jets...
daly mentioned in the gambling thread that phil steele has mahomes as one of his top ranked QBs...kinda surprised me to be honest given how, like you mentioned, the air raid guys don't seem to translate to the NFL...mahomes might be different because he's a helluva lot more athletic than the typical air raid guy...800 total yards of offense...looks like that NHL 94 youtube video...
nevermind keenum, he couldn't beat out sean mannion...but if we give him the benefit of the doubt, he does hold many Cal records and still should be a senior. even w/ all that the pick looks really ugly giving up two #1's two #2's and i think two #3's to get him......christ sake, even old/injured Bernie Kosars wobblers looked better
this could be devastatingly bad for the rams if goff can't become more than a serviceable QB...........and fisher is lol
Goff's arm isn't his concern; it's the fact that Hard Knocks revealed him to be a legit dumb person, that's the concern.
In a league where the position he plays (QB) requires 1/3 administration and leadership, and 1/3 decision making (and the other 3rd athleticism), the fact he didn't know where the fucking Sun set and being lost in QB meetings (coached by Chris Weinke and Jeff Fisher, none the less) is as big of a red flag as him being inable to throw a 20 yard incut into coverage.
