also from a legal perspective, the killing of soleimani is morphing into a straight forward assassination. there were no warnings to embassies, no travel advisories for americans, no briefing congress. both of these would happen automatically if there was a credible imminent threat. and trump himself is saying they were trying to get soleimani for a while and he was under direct pressure from gop hawks for some time to do so, totally contradicting everything he and pompeo trotted out to justify this after the fact.
it would be very unlike iran to simply get over this and move on.

i guess my point is that, once again, the locals are viewing us as an invading/occupying force.
toss in shit like this:
plus pompeo waxing poetic about how the rapture is coming.. pretty straight forward math on how this is going to unravel.

I'm sorry but the more @sonatine posts the more I keep seeing this in my head.
Trump has accomplished a lot already. I think people here will especially like the fifth bullet point
Thank you Mr. President for your anti-semitism
Trump's got a lucky horseshoe up his ass. Taking Soleimani off the board apparently has forced a HUGE error from the Iranian regime with this airplane fiasco.
The "outrage" over Soleimani was bordering on martyrdom but that has been replaced with rage against the Iranian machine for this bumbling buffoonery regarding the downing of the plane.
just so we're clear, the irony of a high school dropout trying to slur someone by using 'trump derangement syndrome' is incredible yes?
eg you guys know where that phrase came from, yes?
never mind that posting economic statistics is apparently now triggering people, thats great stuff too.

huge error shooting down the plane? are you serious. this was no error. don't believe anything you read that suggests it.
not even going to go out on a limb and say these jihads made sure no americans were on that plane just to make sure there wouldn't be future repercussions. that plane stood on the runway for an hour before allowed to takeoff as well. do you think canada or any of the other countries that were represented on that plane are going to do shit to iran....unlikely
this is just iran being iran killing innocents and their own as retaliation.
I’ve never seen anyone run so well for so long. Basically his entire life. Even his business life is astounding. He literally failed at the casino business so profoundly that there was no choice but for the banks to bail him out. If he had been just a moderate failure he would have been fucked. There is like a hundred points in his life where if things broke the other way he’d be in jail. His timing is just insane. When that pussy grabbing tape came out, and he still won the evangelical and family value voters by a bigger margin, it made me think this guy might just run like god all the way until the grave. I’ve never seen anything like it .
related note he was referred to the manhattan prosecutor on friday for real estate fraud.
