Now, Joe decides to sell a copy of the tape that he said would be destroyed to the media for $2 mil.
How does this play out?
Joe just got 5 mil earlier, and blew it all. He is liable for that repayment of the payment, along with any financial penalties that could have been stipulated, along with a penalty for any future potential losses incurred by Charlie? He cant pay back the 5 (its long gone), so if he gets paid for the new tape, that money (2 mil) prob goes to Charlie, but Charlie's attny could likely state that he future film value was worth 10-20 mil (gone down in last few years obv).
Sounds like a massive legal mess that some high brow attnys will be fighting for.
