Kars4Kids seems to be funneling donations to Orthodox Jews in New York
Weird story.
No doubt you've seen or heard this annoying commercial:

Basically you donate your (relatively low value) old car to them, you get a tax writeoff, and they also give you a "vacation voucher" (lol).
There are many companies doing essentially the same thing.
Kars4Kids spent $17 million on these cheesy ads in 2015, which is not uncommon for large charities.
However, they are under fire in Minnesota (and previously settled in Pennsylvania) for "misleading" the public. Specifically, 90% of the money gets funneled into a sister company called Oorah, which operates Orthodox Jewish summer camps in New York.
The concern is that people donate their cars believing they are helping kids in need everywhere, rather than paying for kids in another state to attend a religious summer camp.
I agree with Minnesota. This has shady written all over it.
