ACR suspends my account & holds my $10.6k hostage!!

Hey guys, my name is John S better known as EddieTowne23 on ACR. I have been in the ACR & Twitch community for 5 years & I also mod for multiple Stormers. I have never had a major issue with WPN, until recently...it all started January 11th when I was playing on the Casino side of things, I was playing some Blackjack & the Slots Leaderboard. I had to do a few errands around the house so I would have 2-3 slot machines opened & have them auto spinning 500-1,000 spins at .50cents or $1 (depending on the machines). I would go on to do my errands & about every 45mins-1hr, I would come back to check & see if auto spins were finished. Once they were done I would repeat the process. I did this about 4-5 times & once it was time to call it a night I would open all of my bonuses that were earned.

Now, for anyone who isn't familiar with the ACR Slots Leaderboard this is how it works... you get a free 25 spins for $300 spent, $600 spent & $1,100 spent. Once you have cleared all of those you can ONLY repeat the $1,100, so once I called it a night I should have had about 10-15ish bonuses pending. I opened all of my bonuses & then at the end of the night I took a screenshot of my balance.



I then realized I haven't hit my P2P limit yet for the day, so I P2P $3,000. Now I get on the next day with $9,400 on my ACR & $1,200 on my BCP, I wanted to take another $6,000 off my ACR to leave myself for $3,400+ to degen & play the upcoming Cubed Series, but that's when I find out my ACR/BCP accounts BOTH have been suspended. I contacted support to see what the issue is & I got an email saying "discrepancies & under investigation".



Clearly you can see in the email above that the issue is on "casino side" which is really odd to me. I am not sure of what the problem could possibly be, hence I am not in cahoots with the BJ dealer or seesawing/slots superuser. Now the shitty part is I have my $10.6k being held hostage while they continue an investigation which takes 2+weeks, complete silence & no replies to any of my emails. Finally after 17 days of no answers I get this message to follow up from email #1.



While I waited for ACR support to reply back to me about my ACR/BCP accounts being closed, I got an email alerting me that my True account NOW has been closed on Jan 27th (15 days after my other 2 skins were suspended). Now I am really confused as to what the issue could be, so I email WPN support regarding my True account.



Mind you, I haven't used this skin for sometime (probably like 10-11 months) since a bankroll challenge with fellow community members & this account has $0/tickets. Now I find it odd that due to "privacy policy" they can't disclose the issue with me that led to my accounts being suspended & why they are holding my funds. I am 100% sure I didn't do anything out of the ordinary from what I would usually do or against TOS, like I stated before I am a poker player first but like to degen a little bit here & there on the casino.
Also, I find this final email insulting, especially since ACR is my main income & I thought it was an unnecessary needle.



Now, I have taken a few days away to reach out to certain individuals behind the scenes & to see how to go about fighting this or how to go about getting my $10.6K back before making this post. A lot of people are really confused about this whole outcome & situation, I understand I am sticking my neck out by making this public but I really don't know what else to do. I mean as far as being affiliated with WPN anymore, I clearly don't want anything to do with them anymore, especially with the way this whole situation has played out. I don't feel safe being on a platform that can randomly suspend your account due to discrepancies without knowing if it was something on their end or what the issue is. Now, all I care about is trying to fight to get my $10.6k that is owed to me but according to the last few emails I am getting, it definitely seems like they are just flagging everything as "decision is final", so whether I get my money or not, I want to make everyone aware that this site isn't 100% safe or trustworthy. I have been a loyal member of the Twitch, Twitter & ACR community and most of you know me whether it's behind or on the scenes on Twitch or on the felt.

Sorry to hear about your plight , op. I had to move to acr because bovada no longer accepted players from ny. Also I only play poker. Looks like they are becoming proactive with the bot situations because they interrupt your session with pop up and you have to tell which card completes a set , flush or whatever. I wish I could play bovada games where much easier. Good luck sounds like you didn't do anything wrong hope you get your moneys back. Only thing I can think of is the auto spiniing do they allow this?

Poker for me scaled down interest wise, then got run over by a car so maybe cared less now than ever now. For you though its different I would presume, this is a Main income source for youd id spose, and soo really matters. I give more Credit recently in that at the least ive hear of some more tight, regulation but really pokers kinda easy, especially when you make it Bitcoin only right, so idk sad. Pokers not the same today as it was in say, 2004 lol times have changed and even keeping a few crackers on a site these days is risky, anyway very gl with this hopefully ends well for you.

Sorry for taking a few days to respond to this. I know it must be infuriating to have an offshore site holding your funds, and refusing to answer you as to what you did "wrong". I've had it occur myself, and while I ultimately got my money back both times, it was unnerving, to say the least.

I read your entire post, and before I get to my take on it, I'd like to give some clarification to readers here who may not understand some of the terms you used.

The term "WPN" refers to "Winning Poker Network" -- a network of poker skins, which includes Americas Card Room (ACR). Black Chip Poker (BCP), True Poker (True), and others. These are different sites where you have separate accounts, but are all on the same network, and you play at the same tables against the same competition.

The term "P2P" refers to "player to player transfers". On each skin, you are allowed to send up to $3000 per day to other players on the network.

With that it mind, it should be easier for you to read and understand the original post.

Now I'll give a Cliffs Notes for people who don't want to read all of the details:

- John/MightyMau5, who plays as "EddieTowne23", has three accounts on WPN -- one on ACR, one on BCP, and one on True. He mainly played on ACR, played some on BCP, and hasn't played True in almost a year (and it also has a zero balance).

- John plays both poker and casino games on there. On January 11, he had slots on "auto spin" while he walked away from the computer, attempting to earn enough points to get free spins, as part of a running promo they had there. After earning 3 bonuses of 25 spins each, he ran those spins and called it a night. His ACR balance was about $12,400.

- John then sent a P2P transfer to a friend for $3,000, presumably as a quick way to cash out (and get the $3000 cash from the friend offline). This is very common on ACR, and in fact that's the main reason they make the feature available. This left his ACR with $9400 in it.

- The next day (January 12), John found his account suspended. He also found his BCP account suspended, which had $1200 in it. In total, he had $10,600 locked up.

- Support eventually told him that the suspensions were due to "discrepancies on the casino side", but would not explain further.

- 15 days later, on January 27, he noticed his True Poker account (which had a zero balance and hadn't been used in almost a year) was also suspended. Upon inquiring about, he was told that he was in violation of TOS, and all accounts were being closed. Upon further inquiry, he was told it was final, and they refused to tell him what he did.


In the next post, I will give you my take on all of this, and I have some questions from John, which I will need answered prior to attempting to get involved on his behalf.

It is definitely very frustrating to have your funds locked up, support refusing to tell you why, and then ultimatley confiscated. It's even worse when you aren't told what you supposedly did.

I can tell you that, from my experience, this looks like suspicion of bonus abuse.

Bonus abuse -- or suspected bonus abuse -- accounts for a very high percentage of casino-related account closures on online sites. To be fair, most accused of bonus abuse are actually guilty of it, even though they will sometimes claim otherwise when looking for support on forums or social media. However, there are also cases where bonus abuse is wrongly suspected. This actually happened to me about 6 years ago (though not on ACR/WPN).

What is bonus abuse? Typically it's one of these three things:

- Operating multple accounts on the same site for purposes of redeeming lucrative bonuses, which are supposed to be one-per-person

- Referring fake accounts or relatives/friends' accounts operated by you, in order to get unjustified referral bonuses, or to win referral contests

- Taking advantage of glitches or oversights in the bonus system in order to earn large bonuses which weren't intended

However, some sites will also stretch the term of "bonus abuse" to be the following:

- Depositing for a bonus even when your balance is already high

- Clearing bonuses optimally in order to give yourself the highest chance to walk away with real money

- Operating bonuses in the pattern of the appearance of being a pro gambler, even if not explicitly violating terms of service



When accounts get shut down for alleged bonus abuse, sites tend to act cagey about the situation, because they don't want to give the "abusers" any clues how to avoid getting caught next time. Therefore, you'll get language such as "discrepancies", "TOS violations", and "abuse", and not much more.

When such account shutdowns occur, players often don't understand. They either believe it's a sinister attempt to steal their money, or a false accusation regarding cheating at casino games (and they wonder how that's possible). Even the ones who actually abused bonuses sometimes don't understand that they did anything against terms.

In any case, it often can be hard to separate the people who were legitimately victimized by the site from those who really did abuse bonuses in some way.

While I don't know John/MightyMau5, I get the vibe that he really does seem perplexed as to what's going on here, and doesn't believe he did anything wrong. He might be correct.

John, I do have a fairly good relationship with Chris Moneymaker, and sometimes I can even get Phil Nagy to have a conversation with me. I would be willing to attempt to start a conversation about you, provided I am convinced that you were the victim of a wrongful account closure.

Please answer the following questions for me:

1) Have you only had one account on each WPN skin played on your computer or IP address? (That is, please let me know if any friends/relatives used their WPN accounts on your computer or IP address at any point in the past year.)

2) Have you redeemed any deposit bonuses recently on ACR or WPN?

3) It seemed from your story that you were earning bonus spins for your slot play, and that you "opened your bonuses" before going to bed on January 11. You described these bonuses as 25 spins each, for a total of 75 spins, but you also said you "opened bonuses", which sounds like it's more than just free slot spins. Can you explain which bonuses you received/opened on January 11?

4) Were these bonuses open to everyone on ACR, or targeted to specific people?

5) Did any other accounts ever receive or redeem these bonuses, which could possibly be associated with you -- such as friends or relatives?

6) Is auto-spinning a feature on ACR slots, or were you using an external program to accomplish this?

Please be truthful here. I'm not looking to judge you here. Just be aware that if I get Chris Moneymaker or someone similar to look into it, and it turned out you didn't tell me the whole story, it will leave me in a bad position and I will have to back off and give up. So please tell me everything here, the good and the potentially bad/questionable, and I'll give you advice what to do from here.

Keep in mind that you're not in the strongest position here. You aren't a well known player, and ACR has no real regulator, and makes their own rules/decisions. If you are truly 100% innocent, there's a decent chance I can get this reversed. If you're not, it will come out quickly, and you'll be in the same spot as before. Clearly they THINK they have something on you. It is highly unlikely they're trying to outright steal from you. It's much more likely that they think you've engaged in some kind of abuse of their system, so they will present what they think they have to whomever I try to get to help.

Yea this is a relatively new system ACR has added "Slots Leaderboard" I would say it's been around for about 6 months or so. Auto spins isn't a issue as I know multiple streamers who did the auto spins all day on 4 machines. Top 15 get payed bonus money $100-$1,250 but I usually just spin for the bonuses "25 free spins at .50cent/.75cent/$1 or $1.50 depends on machine".

Not sure what it was that caused all this, but after a few people reached out to me saying they were having issues with slots, casino, etc ACR removed the slots leaderboard bonuses on the 14th. So to me that says clearly they had a issue on their end & I don't think it is fair to point fingers at me over a situation I am not aware about.

I'm going to be honest with you.

The "wife and mother" accounts are probably the issue here, and you might have a very hard time getting the money back.

Now, once again, I am not judging you. In fact, most brick-and-mortar casinos don't mind if you bring in other adults to take advantage of promotions, even if it's fairly clear that the adults are simply family members playing on your bankroll. (Some casinos will clamp down on this if you start bringing in a bunch of strangers to do the same, though.)

Anyway, the problem is that this sort of multiaccounting has been long rampant online, where people have learned to exploit these "one per person" +EV promos by simply signing up friends and family, and playing as them. In fact, Bovada had a HUGE problem with this, once they started accepting cryptocurrency. Advantage players were signing up new accounts, attempting to aggressively run up deposit bonuses (without ever wagering real money), and then would either walk away tens of thousands ahead, or break even and cash out. Because no actual bank account was required, these people simply falsified identification and pretended to be separate people, repeatedly doing this.

I realize that you're nothing like that, but you can understand why ACR might be very suspicious as to why your wife and (presumably elderly) mother want to play on their site, especially at similar games as you do.

My guess is that your success in the casino plus the quick $3k player-to-player transfer, immediately following the win, triggered an audit. During this audit, they probably noticed the existence of your wife's and mom's accounts. They likely suspected shenanigans, suspeneded you, and eventually concluded you were multi-accounting.

I have two more questions:

1) Did your wife or mother have any balance in the accounts at the time of suspension?

2) Did your wife or mother ever redeem any bonuses, or frequently run the slots for the free spins promo?

Answer- I mostly did the auto spins from my ACR account & after I was done I did regular spins on my BCP to get the 3 free spins bonus. "Never been a issue before, usually I will spin on my computer & wife will spin on her laptop".

Answer- Auto spinning is a feature available on MOST machines, very rarely will there be a machine that doesn't have auto-spin.

Answer- That night I would say about $9k was won on slots/BJ. I am pretty sure between poker, sports betting & casino I have won about $35k the last 2.5 months & NEVER had a issue, until that night. Not sure what it was that caused all this, but after a few people reached out to me saying they were having issues with slots, casino, etc ACR removed the slots leaderboard bonuses on the 14th. So to me that says clearly they had a issue on their end & I don't think it is fair to point fingers at me over a situation I am not aware about.


8) Regarding the acount which received the $3,000 on January 11, who is it? You don't have to name them, but please let me know if that person could possibly be believed to be you? For example, if it's your brother, the answer would be yes. If it's your roommate, the answer would be yes. If it's your buddy who comes over and plays ACR from your house sometimes, the answer would be yes. If it's someone unrelated across the country who has never used their account on your computer or IP before, the answer would be no.

I'm going to be honest with you.

The "wife and mother" accounts are probably the issue here, and you might have a very hard time getting the money back.

Now, once again, I am not judging you. In fact, most brick-and-mortar casinos don't mind if you bring in other adults to take advantage of promotions, even if it's fairly clear that the adults are simply family members playing on your bankroll. (Some casinos will clamp down on this if you start bringing in a bunch of strangers to do the same, though.)

Anyway, the problem is that this sort of multiaccounting has been long rampant online, where people have learned to exploit these "one per person" +EV promos by simply signing up friends and family, and playing as them. In fact, Bovada had a HUGE problem with this, once they started accepting cryptocurrency. Advantage players were signing up new accounts, attempting to aggressively run up deposit bonuses (without ever wagering real money), and then would either walk away tens of thousands ahead, or break even and cash out. Because no actual bank account was required, these people simply falsified identification and pretended to be separate people, repeatedly doing this.

I realize that you're nothing like that, but you can understand why ACR might be very suspicious as to why your wife and (presumably elderly) mother want to play on their site, especially at similar games as you do.

My guess is that your success in the casino plus the quick $3k player-to-player transfer, immediately following the win, triggered an audit. During this audit, they probably noticed the existence of your wife's and mom's accounts. They likely suspected shenanigans, suspeneded you, and eventually concluded you were multi-accounting.

I have two more questions:

1) Did your wife or mother have any balance in the accounts at the time of suspension?

2) Did your wife or mother ever redeem any bonuses, or frequently run the slots for the free spins promo?

Answer- My mother barely plays the site & when she does it's a $1.65 game here & there. My wife also barely plays unless she wins a free ticket through the ACR Show on Twitch but sometimes she will dabble on slots if she wants to play. But NEVER does she chase the leaderboard, she rather play .25cent spins just to kill time sometimes. Neither of them have anything to do with my situation especially since neither have been on recently "3months+".

Answer- No they don't spend much money other than $5-$10 here and there

Correct, their accounts have nothing to do with the situation especially since they both got their accounts back. I literally hate the fact that this is happening over something I barely use, I will dabble on the casino side here & there but my main source is Poker & Sports Betting.

I actually would have had much less of an issue if they let him take his money, but booted him and said he wasn't welcome anymore. That would have been their right, even though the optics still wouldn't have been very good. Taking his $10,600 with no explanation was what bothered me.

Wow! I think this is the first instance of a site closing an account, confiscating funds and then doing a reverse on it that I have witnessed.

Ruben is one of the guys who played on the "ACR Stormers" team until he quit because of a dispute involving some stuff the CEO said on stream to his girlfriend. Long story.

Anyway, I guess he still has some influence over there.

Yes, I've been meaning to come on here to post the update but after I posted on twitter I took a little family time away in the snow & you beat me to it. There was a lot of people who were behind the scenes here in DMs whether it was moral support, reaching out to WPN or etc. Clearly I already thanked Druff & Ruben publicly on Twitter but also would really like to thank them both again.

First & foremost, I would like to thank Ruben, he has always been a real one since I met him the past 3 years & over that time we have established a friendship & he has always been very supportive of me.
Secondly, Druff had no clue who I was from Adam but either way he heard me out & took a chance on me with my story. I am really happy that I reached out to you & you welcomed me opened arms from everything to setting up my account to being there 24/7 when I would give you updates on the situation. Next time we are in the same area, dinner is on me!

Just read this thread and I'm glad it got resolved. I guess the decision at first was "final" until it wasn't lol.

I was thinking of depositing on ACR to play tournaments from time to time but after reading this I think I'll pass. These online poker and gambling sites have way too much unchecked power for my liking and I can't stomach logging into my account 1 day and seeing my funds frozen. Just not worth it.

I do want to say that MightyMau5 sent me something for my assistance, which I never asked for, but I appreciate a lot.

The money will go toward the site bills, since as most of you know, this thing runs at a loss.
