this makes no sense to me... for years before Wrigley Field had lights, one of their major arguments to get lights was that people couldn't get to the day games during the week cause of work and more people would attend if they had night games... but just look at the MLB schedule today for instance, there were 5 games on the east coast that started real early today... fuck i mean i think they started at noon EST... don't these other franchises care about attendance during midweek? why aren't they playing night games so more fans can attend the games midweek?? and this happens often... this makes no sense to me...
i suppose the upper brass in MLB has the say i suppose... why are there so many day games midweek like today?? doesn't make sense to me..??
Average age of an MLB fan is in bed by 8pm
It’s almost always the finale of a series and the visiting team has to travel after the game so on “getaway days”midweek where the visiting team is playing the next day in another city it’s usually a day game. I seem
To recall there might even be some rule regarding it.
If the White Sox hold a firesale, this Smith is a real pitcher and there are going to be some serious bidders
I took a winger on him this afternoon because the Twins can’t hit either and he made the Tribe look foolish. Nasty out pitches and swing and misses. I figured it would be a coinflip paying +150. I meant to make a post about this spot and then got stuck in endless construction on I-80

So I was going to make a post a couple days ago to keep an eye on Twins rookie Luke Keaschall, he is generally regarded as a lower end top 100 prospect in all of MLB before this year, an all-contact bat, avg power, weak glove type.
He gets the call due to the normal plague already infecting the Twins clubhouse, and comes out roaring. Got on base more than half the time in his first 7 games, with 5 steals to boot. A ray of hope!
He proceeds to get HBP yesterday, and fractured his forearm.
I swear you can't make this shit up anymore with this team.
Dodgers looking terrible lately.
Ohtani is suddenly an automatic out. Betts and Freeman not doing much either.
Pitching just bad enough to lose.
After an 8-0 start, they’re 8-10 and have lost 4 straight.
The funny thing is I sort of saw the Ohtani slump coming. He was striking out a ton, and it just didn’t seem sustainable to keep up good numbers otherwise.
Augustin Ramirez of the Marlins off to a great start.
If he keeps it up, Marlins might have something. He’s one of a few catching prospects slated to debut in 2025.
Max Muncy’s slugging percentage is .237. That’s not good either. It’s a long season, they’ll be fine. Padres looking really good though. It’s a good thing they cut the number of division games down. Although the Giants coming to town for only six games a year kind of sucks.
It's amazing how important Merrill is to the Padres. They only became a serious team mid year last year when he emerged and they probably have averaged 2 runs a game since he has been out. Blanked in b2b games.
The Dodger offense is below league average these recent weeks.
The defense is nothing short of terrible. Even they admit that.
The bullpen is mid.
The rotation is always a summer of tribulation. That is always where the Dodger entertainment resides.
That said, the regular season is near meaningless now. The Dodgers will receive an entry ticket to the playoff tournament.
Red Sox-Cle o4.5 first 5 -103
I was about to say its looking good but the Indians running into a senseless out at 3rd isn't helping. You should be almost there and have sweat instead. Sox doing their part. I'll root for 5-0 game after 5.
I'm enjoying the season so far but the Indians being the Guardians along with the guy on 2nd in extras isn't cool with me.
@bcr, was that you yelling at Duran to hels himself at today's game?
Seriously though, who didn't see that coming?
No. I heard about it after. I had long turned off the game by then. I was sitting like a row away from the guy who Albert Belle once plunked in the stands. It was right after the name change. He was drunk and yelling “Joey Joey.” Our own fans yelling at him lol. Belle threw an absolute dart like 6 rows up and hit his target center chest. Loved it. I’m all for more fans getting their ass kicked ala Malice at the Palace style if they want to run their mouth.
Did Albert Belle use steroids? He had to have, right? This was the play that came to mind when you mentioned him:

I’m sure he was. Everyone was at that time. That was the Brady Anderson hitting 50 HRs from the lead off spot era. Comical numbers. That Pedro dominated his next closest pitcher by over 2 runs allowed per game during that era is why I always say he’s the best pitcher I’ve ever seen. Not all that close imo.
Twins-Tribe tonight gut.
I’m not betting Cle, the Twins might be a play. I recall Ober really shutting us down a few times. It appears Gavin has pitched well against the Twins though. Both coming off a few good outings.
It’s a twins play or stay away.
Other than Jose, it appears Ober has shut everyone else in the lineup down. Even Kwan is 0-12 against him.
But you guys can’t hit either. Plus you have been really bad on the road. Maybe an under? When Williams is struggling, he starts to not trust his stuff and will walk guys and I don’t trust him on the under.’
I see we have scored like exactly the same amount of runs for the year. No advantage there. Just two equally inept offenses.
Nothing I really love looking over the slate tonight.
White Sox and Angels series came at the right time for the Twins, at least we're back to "respectable enough" record. Ober has been sharp since he was sick his first start.
I took what is a 90% gut (no pun intended) feeling on the o9.5 NYM/WAS. I'm not buying the Canning resurgence (various underlying numbers not great), and Williams magic dust from last year already worn off. Basically think that at any given time with ~150 active starting pitchers in MLB, these 2 are both around #135 or so.
I was going to jump on your over but the juice jumped up. A lot see it like you. O 5.5 for first 5 is +106. That’s a lot of runs though if even one of those guys show up.
I think I’m going to be on Twins +110. That’s just gut also. Gavin either has it or he doesn’t so I will know quickly. If he gets humming he’s tough, but so is Ober. If that bets loses it will be some 2 HR Jose game or something weird
Dodgers #3 Dustin May rates an F on BPP for pitch control (worst on slate). Nods head
Gonna be REAL interesting how often Shohei “Pops” Ohtani plays when he’s not pitching.
He’s +300 for a HR. Ohtani math value coming off his slump. Still not a way to profit long term but matchup and boredom.
The TT HR prop on DK is an interesting market. I took over .05 HR Dodgers for even money .
I don’t think the Twins have hit a ball that didn’t have an exit velocity of 105+ so far. Need to add a few more runs though.
I remember as a 14-year-old seeing that Bob Horner, then of the woeful 1986 Braves, cracked off 4 home runs in one game.
And guess what? The Braves lost anyway -- 11-8 to the Montreal Expos.
That was the only time in MLB history that a player hit 4 HR in a game, and the team lost.
Fast forward 37 years.
I was strolling through downtown Phoenix on Saturday, and wondering how the Dbacks were doing against the Braves. Eugenio Suarez hit 4 HR in that game, and you guessed it, the Dbacks lost in extras.
If you remember Horner just abruptly vanishing after that strong 1986 season, you're correct. In 1986, he hit .273 with 27 HR and held a .803 OPS. It was his second consecutive season with 27 HR, and he had 54 HR in 1000 plate appearances in those two years combined.
He wanted a whopping $2 million in 1987 as a free agent. MLB owners were colluding at the time to hold salaries down, and refused to give it to him.
He ended up going to Japan and playing that year. Despite being offered a 3-year, $10m contract to continue playing there from 1988-90, he missed the US and returned, signing a much smaller 1-year deal with the Cardinals. He injured his shoulder, played poorly, and retired after 60 games, at the age of just 31.
Had he been born 10-15 years later, he'd have done much better financially.
Funny. I remember Horner doing it also.
This is how good I’m running. Had the Braves that night and won despite the 4HRs.
Think it was this one

I assume you mean over 0.5 HR, as it's not possible to hit 0.1 HR. Would actually be the same bet though.
That's a good bet though, I think. Dodgers been swinging for the fences lately. Their opposing pitcher, Edward Cabrera, has given up 1 bomb each game, and has a career average of 1 HR allowed every 6.8 innings.
Slight breeze blowing out. Only issue? The weather is forecast to be 60-63 degrees during the game, but that's not a huge deal.
I like it.
I homerun propped Ohtani also.
Also did Teoscar because he’s making such good contact right now at +460
Hopefully one hits.
TEO BANG
Math is idiotic
I could live a 1000 lifetimes and still not have your rizz BCR.
Now time for Ohtani next inning if the fuckers don’t walk him. Shouldn’t down 5-0
Well damn. At this rate we might get two more Ohtani Abs and now some fun ML action comes into play.
Obviously this is after first 5 already scored. Just a bet dodgers score in their half

Fuck Freddie double play
Do not operate under the misconception that the Dodgers are a prolific offense. At least not now.
Marlins are THE most profitable team total this season in the MLB.
Oh, remember betting Dodgers -1.5 in 2023 & 2024? Used to be a near autobet. That program is history now.
