Tom and his BUDDY have a similar writing style. IF you know what I mean.
Respectfully this doesnt seem like an instance where Chesnoff would play any favor cards.
Pretty sure the prosecution just doesnt want to go to trial with a Nevada jury there. Because dont tread on me etc.
Also pretty sure the other shoe has yet to drop.
Tom how much were bitcoins worth when micon offered 3 btc for the domain
Dripping with weak sauce still makes it juicy.
In the end Sonatine & Druff sum this up.
I was wrong. I missed and missed huge.
And yet this all appeals to my cynicism of government greatly.
Micon pays a small tax of $25k on years of hosting an unlicensed site. (Anyone wanna run the P/L on Micon's play? How much was this light regulation license, for instance?). His felony probably/hopefully gets reduced to a misdemeanor. Micon has to endure some period of probation - lol, maybe unsupervised? God bless
Meanwhile, its Bitcoin poker as usual. Carry on. My interest in poker just expired. I can't even work up the energy to play our freerolls anymore. However, I feel compelled to ship a Bitcoin to SWCPoker just for the civil disobedience and figurative middle finger to NVG.
Licensing and light regulation? How's that working out for you Druff? Think of this as a test case. Nevada is a state that licenses online poker. What have you learned big guy? Go ahead and look up synonyms for "variance". This might help with your response. You really don't understand what happened, do you?
Micon's case is a great civics lesson for those who rely on government and the judicial system and not education & intelligence. Be a smart consumer and educated citizen. Else let someone else do it - someone who has their own interests ahead of yours.
I have not googled a picture of Chesnoff & Schonfeld. I will not. I prefer to keep my image of Tony G. (Chesnoff) yelling, "feel the power!"
So congrats Micon for stuffing these idiots. Masterfully played. Chose the right legal team. Got some sun. Flew some drones. Paid a small tax and now back to doing what you love. Playing WSOP and hosting a bitcoin site. Once Micon is uncoupled from all this inconvenience the temptation to do the victory lap will be too great and we will be entertained.
Take your victory lap too, Limitles, and everyone else who bet "plea". Honestly, did anyone really see this clean a deal? Anyway, you do help keep the place alive Limitles. I was just playing the Micon game. Kinda sorry it's nearly over.
Certainly no hard feelings on this end.

Let me get this straight... Josh bought swcpoker.com YEARS ago, like YEARS before it was actually a thing, and just so happens to be involved with Bitcoins to some degree and also plays on swcpoker.eu... Oh, and ALSO happens to have a reputation as a squatter, but yeah, he bought swcpoker.com YEARS ago so he wasn't squatting.
GTFO!
Tom, I'm not going to condone shutting someones account down and keeping their BC, but bad things happen to bad people. Aside from derailing this thread with all that needless bullshit, you made yourself look like a complete fool going to bat for your "buddy". Nice job. 2/2.
Keep in mind, this situation isnt over yet. We dont know how much MeCoin paid his attorney to defend him, and how much more he will be paying to him. That could come out to 100K when all is done. We dont know what was confiscated, we dont know the end result with him in the court.
Im still shocked he is getting off so light though. If he socked away 7 figures somehow, and can continue to run, er, have someone else run swc, he has a chance to keep the gravy train running. Martha should now roll him and file for divorce and tell the court where he is hiding his coin. Run off with his jump drive, tell him he can transfer her some fiat or she squeals to the NVGC, and runs off with Adam's kid.

And yet Dutch Boyd (looool) represents himself as the lead developer for Sealwithclubs.com since April 2012.
What a shocking turn of events!
Tom, kill yourself. Actually kill Josh by shoving his head down your fucking throat until youre both dead.
Most state gambling charges, in every state in the union, get pled down to misdemeanors and jail time almost never happens. I've known people in my lifetime of gambling that have been charged on the state level and on the federal level and the difference is very different.
Even felony gambling pleas rarely, if ever involve jail time unless there is some other component to the case.
This is very different than being charged with a Federal gambling crime, which is almost always going to end badly.
This outcome was easily predicted, unless for some reason the State wanted to make an example out of him or something.
Attorney fees for Chesnoff & Schonfeld...$100,000.
Fine from the State of Nevada for running an unlicensed gambling website...$25,000.
Expenses for moving family to Antigua for 4 months...$50,000.
Money raised through GoFundMe.com for Bryan Micon's Legal Defense Fund...$4,055.
Not having to get ass fucked in prison by a black man with a big cock...Priceless.
For everything else there's Bitcoin.

It is true that Micon got off easy. However, you couldnt give me a million dollars to put myself and my family through all the shit he went through. From the raid, to the months of not knowing what was going to happen. I wouldnt be surprised if he is addicted to benzos, so he simply to get through the day with out having full blown panic attacks. He got almost the best case scenario possible but now what? What does he do for stable long-term income? He had no skills except promoting himself as a "pro poker player" even though he is a losing poker player.
They won't listen.
Chesnoff = GOD. Who just saved Micon from YEARS IN PRISON!! It was AMAZING!!!
Did you see how he cut that "sweet plea deal" working his magic getting Stoll off scott free on that HUGE possession charge too?? How does he do it!? I mean how in the world did a guy packing that much weight and facing "4 YEARS OHHHH" in prison for a FELONY get off??
He clearly is slipping the judge donations, or has him in his pocket...because no lawyer could EVER cut those sweet deals!! I mean the book is thrown at non violent losers with perfectly clean records all the time!
I am laughing uncontrollably to see this place crown this guy as the king of all lawyers, like he did something that about every fucking lawyer in the state of Nevada with a pulse could get for his client.
These are such basic low level cases it isn't even funny. Judges see HUNDREDS of these bullshit cases every month, and the only thing they are annoyed at is they have to waste their time on them instead of playing golf.ol
Knowing what I know about our legal system, im inclined to agree with NBH on this one.
I will fully admit I was wrong. I didn't see this ending without some sort of jail sentence, even with a top notch attorney. I have lived in this city for over 15 years and every time the state attorney has a news conference, sends out a press release so all local media can attend (not to mention the chairman of the gaming commission), they have proceeded very aggressively.
I doubt we'll ever know what really went on but am going to assume that affect the SAG spoke with experts, he was informed that a conviction wasn't a guarantee, actually probably far from it. Micon of course didn't want to gamble with a jury, so even though I'm sure he didn't want to plead guilty to anything, Chesnoff wisely told him to lose his ego, be happy he will be able to freely come and go, not be in exile, and lol behave himself and hsve this eventually dropped to a gross misdemeanor.
What I still don't get (I know this has been said before) but I don't understand why the new site he started after the raid wasn't mentioned! So he easily can claim he doesn't own it anymore and have someone else "run it for him" and funnel any profits to him via bitcoins, Carribean bank accounts etc.
I'm curious if the terms of his probation will fully be made public. I honestly was shocked to see him at the rio literally hours after his court appearance and booking. I guess his attorneys advised him it was fine to patronize a casino. And lol the wsop bans people from playing in the wsop for smoking pot, knowing how to play perfect strategy video poker, yet they have no problem with someone that ran an illegal competing fail site to their legal fail site.
I haven't seen this theory mooted anywhere yet so I take it there must be a good reason, but is it feasible that Micon received such an unexpectedly soft punishment because he ratted out the real power behind the throne of SWC?
well, this isn't every other state, its Nevada, which takes gambling quite a bit more seriously than other states, for obv reasons.
Considering the press conference they had to announce the entire shebang, it did appear that the state wanted to make an example of him, did it not?
Wow! Pics? Or I guess that would be too creepy if you took some...
Oh, and I was wrong too...think I guessed 2 1/2 years. (I know I definitely let the other high guesses on this site move my own number up from about 1 or 1 1/2 years.) #trustyourinstinctsbetter
I believe you can really see the turning point when he decided he was serious about coming back to the States and given up his "fight". It was when he announced on bitcointalk.org that he was taking a step back from the spotlight and letting others run things on SWCPoker.eu for the foreseen future. Then ALL social media emissions from him went silent. And I don't believe this was ever really talked about...Micon flat out QUIT playing on PokerStars at this same time. With 20/20 backward vision it was painfully obvious his lawyers were orchestrating a return to some sort or normal for him and he was fully on board...no way Micon and family were not feeling homesick and just wanted all this to be over. High Price, but you reap what you sow, and this was the only real alternative (LOL at everyone saying Micon should remain a fugitive / move to Costa Rica and continue running SWC from there, etc.).
What is the purpose of Micon's visit to the WSOP? Is he going to play some? GoFundMe live? Shock and Awe?
methinks all three.
Back up a few pages http://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sho...l=1#post425097
Yes to all of the above. After the press conference you would have thought the gaming commission was going to go after Micon to the full extent of arsenol at their disposal. They wound up giving him what amounted to less then a slap on the wrist, just so surreal. All that noise and hubbub and less then one of those kids firecrackers that you throw and makes a popping noise was the result.
I never got around to reading the court document until now which can be found in the pokernews article here:
http://www.pokernews.com/news/2015/0...ilty-22060.htm
In the document it says all of the acts have been committed "on or between about March 1st, 2014 through February 9th, 2015". That is some funky grammar in that context but whatever.
Micon was pimping seals with clubs for a long time before March 1st of last year so these clowns who put together this case against him aren't even amateurs.
Besides top representation maybe the state of Nevada realized that Seals was such a small site because the big ones aren't getting off that easily even if they avoid jail time the fines were much more hefty.
What if someone was to tell you that you could operate an illegal gambling operation for a few years to reap all the rewards and then only pay a $25,000 fine along with getting some probation? Is that something you might be interested in?
If people think that he lost in this venture I disagree but a lot depends on if he sold out any of his coins when they peaked up high. Only Micon knows that for sure and he would be a dumb ass to reveal it but I have to believe he sold some off.
Seals was rake adjusted based on the value of the coin. If they are taking $2 for a point when the coin was $100 and he never sold that percentage of coin until it shot up to $1000 it's like they took $20 per hand.
Surreal. He's here today. He just had a 2-3 minute discussion literally 2 feet behind me with a floor person because his table in the pavilion broke and his new table in Brasilia had someone in his seat. I turned around and glared at him. He definitely saw me.
I guess the lesson is don't count cards, play perfect video poker, smoke a joint in your car if you want to play at the wsop. Just start an illegal fail site to compete against their legal fail site and post YouTube videos calling the USA a terrorist state. Real fucking cute.
Sonatine, at what point do you realize that you actually don't know shit, and just talk talk talk like you do. It is comical how frequently you flipped sides throughout this thread. OH MY SIDES!
This thread literally reveals how big of a fake ass clown you are. Log the fuck off, and admit you really don't know much about 90%+ of the BS you act like you do on this site!
Established by who? How is this public knowledge? Are we going off stuff Micon said himself and going to take that as the 100% truth? Micon wouldn't ever tell a lie right?
I'm sure he dusted money off at the casino that is a given but people are making several assumptions that even a dumb ass like Micon would be smart enough not to post some of the financials publically.
Anyone who understands how the market works would cashout high and if they want more precious coins they rebuy them when they drop back down a lot. I would hope he would have done this but none of us truly know.
I can't remember what the coins were worth when Micon first got involved but they were under $50 if I recall since they were doing 3 and 5 coin freerolls a lot over on seals before the value of the coin shot up so they were raking a higher portion of coin which in that time like I was saying any $2 raked pot received in coin if it didn't get sold was worth several times that months later.
It's been established.
We can get a beer sometime and discuss it if you want. Im not going to get into it here.
