You have the reading comprehension of a 12 year old. I never said that the mentally ill do not need help. I pointed out that 4D was right that there would never be a clamor for anti-car legislation in the hypothetical scenario that I proposed. Today, by and large, has been about certain groups using a tragic event that tugs at the heart strings of the populous to further their own agenda.

I am purely speculating here, but if the varying reports are true then the bulk of the blame for today resides on the shoulders of the dead guy's mother. It would seem that he had mental issues that were known about before today. He also had access to weapons that were owned by his mother. She should have known better.

If you feel so strongly about this, what is stopping you from writing a check to the Federal government so they can provide more mental health care to these people. Or why not write a check to your local mental health care facility?

They also happen to have a much more stable and healthy financial system because they know how to regulate it, more abundant natural resources, a happier and healthier population, higher educational attainment, better measures on every socioeconomic indicator, better international relations, etc etc, but yeah keep thinking we live in the garden of eden.
