That's when I turned the game off. I also turned off the Patriots-Ravens game last night because the Pats were up 9 with just a few minutes left.

You fucking left? Even knowing they had a smothering defense and all their timeouts? Why would anyone leave a one possession game with minutes left? They even fumbled on their first play after Seattle punted. Seattle traffic ain't that bad after a sporting event. What a waste of a ticket.
If you're the sort of person that walks out of a game early or changes the channel because it seems out of hand, you're destined to miss a lot of great comebacks. If you're really loose about doing it, you're almost guaranteed to never see one. I rarely do this, so I've seen some amazing shit as it happened live. McGrady dropping 13 points in the final 31 seconds for the win. Peyton Manning overcoming a 35-14 deficit with 4 minutes to go in regulation. The Music City Miracle. A lot of people, even fans of these teams, had to catch it on Sports Center or read about it in the paper. I would hate to be that guy.
Pretty sure that officiating crew also did the Pacquiao fight
Not sure why nobody is talking about the possible Donaghy effect here. Some of these guys probably live very simple lives and the chance to officiate and influence the outcomes of games with big bets could be very enticing. At what point do people start thinking that maybe something more is going on? At least it would fucking make sense. What other explanation is there to see the replay and still call it a TD?
Whole lot of fail going on in this thread, and I ain't just talkin' about the refs.
You would think anyone that has watched football over the years would know better than to turn off a game when a team is only down by 9, or to leave a stadium while down by less than a TD and only needing a 3 and out to get the ball back with close to a minute left.

If I was a Ravens fan, I wouldn't have turned the game off with minutes left. As a general football fan, a good 90% of the time after that situation I would spend a half hour watching very boring football. The other 10% of the time, maybe less, I'll watch the highlights on Sportscenter. It's not a big difference to me.
The replay officials couldn't reverse the call since it was ruled a TD on the field. They cannot determine who had possession, they could only look at whether the ball was caught. They've been talking about that a lot over the last couple hours on ESPN. It's obviously total bullshit, but as the rules stand the replay officials hands were tied.
The sad thing is, we don't really know what's going on with the ref lock out. What's being asked for what is being denied? I mean it's really easy to say fuck Goodell but his hands are also tied down by the owners, hopefully more can be reported about this and can induce some sort of reconcile and get these reg refs back on the field. I mean you telling me they can't come up with some sort of short term 1yr deal just so the nfl's image doesn't continue to be ruined by hs and jr college refs? Fucks sake, how big does someones yacht have to be?!
I had considered this a couple weeks ago after some ridiculous calls. I wonder if the league had the time & where-with-all to do a proper background check of all these officials. I doubt it. Some of them may very well have some really bad acquaitances or be in dire straights financially. What a great oppurtunity for a blackmailer, or the refs themselves, to fix games. They know they're only there for a certain amount of time.
I heard the Refs Rep on NFL Radio on Sirius and was pretty shocked at how petty the NFL is being over this. Granted I was only listening to the Refs side of things, but according to him all they are asking for is the same pay rate, pension and benefits as all other major sports refs in the US. They want to be full time. Most of the NFL refs hold other jobs.
Steve Young put it really well on ESPN earlier... He said you have billionaire owners, millionaire players and they are literally arguing about thousands of dollars. Not billions, not millions... Thousands.
We already know they didn't do background checks.

You hire a guy from NO with publicly posted pics of him in Saints gear to ref a Saint's game? Ummmmm......ok.
The best line of that article:
"The league says that the NFL replacement refs go through the same background checks as the locked out officials but it looks like a few details have slipped through the cracks."
What??????? Where the guy lives & his favorite team slipped throught he cracks? I wonder what else "slipped through the cracks"?
You guys are missing the point
The Seahawks made Erin Rodgers their 13th BITCH!!!
REMINDS ME OF THIS GUY

Granted I know the boards are filled with fucking retards but I literally do not understand your post or how it at all correlates with what happened.

The refs suck....is that what you want to hear??? Everyone knows it and has been complaining for months about it. Maybe now the NFL will actually do something and concede some of their points in the negotiations and end the lockout. However, people will continually watch these games no matter what, even if these refs are only qualified to ref pee wee football games.
The title of this thread is The Seahawks Own Your Face:
What happened was that Erin Rodgers got sacked 8 or 9 times in the first half. That was and is fucking awesome. The Seahawks owned Mr. 4 yard pass all night long. CenturyLink Field is the home of the "12th man" for being the loudest fans in the NFL. So basically, they made Erin Rodgers their "13th BITCH".
Clay Matthews reminds me of Lattimer, lol on him posting Godell's phone number. Crazy hence Lattimer.
You are somehow making less sense but what could I expect, yes rodgers was sacked a lot in this game and somehow...the point...is?
You do realize the whole game was decided over a blown call while SEA was on offense, right?
Not to mention SEA was a LOT less effective defensively in the 2nd half, GB finally started moving the ball around and ate up a ton of clock, this is why even the announcers had mentioned that SEA had only 6 plays deep into the 2nd half.
THE LAST PLAY SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. On two of the Packers's scoring drives, two third down unsuccessful conversions were turned into first downs by TERRIBLE calls. First, they called pass interference on a run play (lol) it was really illegal hands to the face, but either way it was on the opposite side of where the play was going and it should NOT have been called.
Then, they called a terrible PI on the CB breaking on the slant where he didn't even touch him until the ball was thrown. If these weren't called, the Seahawks could have burned clock, scored, or did something. The last play would NOT have happened.
Or what about that roughing the passer call when GB intercepted it at SEA 30 or the Shields PI on 2nd and 30 that gave SEA a 1st down.(Technically he hit the Rodgers below the knees but yet that call is rarely called by real refs) or the Brower personal foul when he had a huge cheap shot at Jennings, and Jennings got called for it also even though he didn't do anything.
Blown call or right call??? It's a judgement call, by horrible judges. One ref called it a touchdown and the other called it a touch back. The last play pretty much summed up the ineptitude of these refs but the whole season has been this way, so go blame the NFL for not giving a crap.
Basically Clay Mathews is crazy like Lattimer and will be fined for posting that number. Erin Rodgers pushed away a camera man walking off the field and nothing was said about it.

And then there's this: The NFL pulled in $9.3 billion in revenues last year. In 2010, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he hoped that the NFL would hit $25 billion in annual revenue by 2025. Assuming that 10.5 percent a year growth rate -- and the numbers are surely going to be aggressive with the league pulling in $4.9 billion worth of television rights fees annually starting in 2014 -- the league will be bringing in $16.1 billion worth of business by 2018.
"If the league pays the referees roughly $40 million a year, which is an estimate based on the referees' offer and the league's idea of expanding crews, that's 0.2 percent of the revenue the league takes in.
Now if all the owners are like Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones -- who says mistakes are going to happen anyway -- roll the dice and pocket the $200,000 savings per year, per team.
But it's hard given the league's growth for fans to accept that that's the best option."
Are you fucking serious? 200k thousand per team per year to get the "Real Refs" back.....what a bunch of cheap, rich bastards, who are not interested in the safety of their players(see all the scrums, after the plays have ended and all the cheap shots people are getting away with). The NFL's integrity is on the line with this crap.
Maybe Mister Jones needs that 200k to pay his son-in-law to clean his glasses....
Unless this dipshit reporter is sitting in on the negotiations or has experience in complex labor negotiations, he really isn't qualified to open his cock garage. I'm sure it's vastly more complicated than simply, "giving the refs what they want".
While something obviously needs to be done, I can't really blame the NFL for not just bending over and taking it up the ass from the refs. That would set a horrific example for not only future NFL negotiations, but in other pro sports negotiations as well. The league can't reward them for striking. Hopefully both sides will give a little. The refs get a better deal and the league doesn't look like pussy's.
Americans, for the most part are stupid and will forget about this in a week or so. I saw a clip of some dipshit Packers fan who said he was so fed up with the NFL and that he was done with it and wanted a refund. Or replacement tickets. He was so disgusted and finished with the league that he wanted MORE tickets to NFL games. Wow, shithead. Way to take a stand.
The funny thing (not obvious) in the above picture is the ref on the right is signalling TB after lifting his arms, while the ref on the right is signalling touch by back waving his arms across his head - this picture makes it appear they are both signalling TD.
lol NFL - bet on stocks!
Pete Carroll is the only person on the planet who thinks they made a good call. Have some integrity and say we got away with one. Pathetic
Is the white ref who signaled td the same ref that called pass int on Shields when he never touched the receiver and got mugged by the wr? It was the same side of the field. If so this guy has to be investigated because these guys know they have a temp job you cant think that some of them wouldnt take a big payoff.
They didn't have all of their timeouts, but they had two and I thought they had 1. We jumped the gun obv and I don't feel the least bit bad about it. Stopping by that bar in Pioneer Square to watch the last play with a huge group of others and then seeing them all going crazy in the streets was fantastic.
This makes up for a couple of years ago when we left with the game in hand and somehow lost it while we were in the parking garage.
Best morning ever

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE NFL
While the ball is in the air, (Golden) Tate can be seen shoving Green Bay cornerback Sam Shields to the ground. This should have been a penalty for offensive pass interference, which would have ended the game. It was not called and is not reviewable in instant replay.
When the players hit the ground in the end zone, the officials determined that both Tate and Jennings had possession of the ball. Under the rule for simultaneous catch, the ball belongs to Tate, the offensive player. The result of the play was a touchdown.
Replay Official Howard Slavin stopped the game for an instant replay review. The aspects of the play that were reviewable included if the ball hit the ground and who had possession of the ball. In the end zone, a ruling of a simultaneous catch is reviewable. That is not the case in the field of play, only in the end zone.
Referee Wayne Elliott determined that no indisputable visual evidence existed to overturn the call on the field, and as a result, the on-field ruling of touchdown stood. The NFL Officiating Department reviewed the video today and supports the decision not to overturn the on-field ruling following the instant replay review.
The result of the game is final.
Cowboys.Com Now A Gay Dating Site, Still More About Football Than Browns.Com
"According to a press release from the owner of the site, it’s not necessarily a “gay cowboy dating site”, as it looks “serve the needs of straight daters as well”, as long as said straight daters want to f**k a homosexual cowboy guy. No matter what, the site will continue to serve 0% of people looking for Orie Lemon’s FR stats.
I’d hate to see what’s going on at Bears.com."

When you're reading any of TuffTurf's posts, just keep in mind that this is the same guy who thinks we have colonized the moon and built giant statues there.
I was lol'g at the NFL and thinking of the smile on TonyB's face when that happened. As a Steeler fan who possibly :) benefited from some favorable rulings in that SB, I was happy for him.
This is just incorrect the official with the better view didnt signal touchdown he signaled touch back, so the head official is supposed to get together with them and work it out. If both of them said TD and were both horribly wrong it would be easier to swallow, but why is the guy with the worse position given the call over the guy who has the full view. The guy who signaled TD couldnt even see the ball. I agree with some of the Packers they think he thought GB was the offense and signalled TD that is the only explanation outside of corruption to make that call.
LOL at Tate in the post-game interview.
"Did you push off?"
"I don't know what you talkin' 'bout!"
Sure, bud.
