Having 200 calories in a serving and being healthy are hardly mutually exclusive.

6'2 230 changes the amount of calories by a tiny bit, but not much.
No working out hardly - 2600
Minimal 1-3 days a week - 2975
Average 3-5 days a week - 3450
For weight loss you need to be -500 off those numbers depending on your activity level. You might be able to push it to -750.
NOT 1000. NOT 1600 fucking calories like a 105lb woman like dipshit is telling you.
Your body could get into state where you are nutrition deficient and your body starts cannibalizing muscle. This is one of the worst possible things for losing fat, as building/retaining muscle mass is the best way to destroy fat. You also would be more prone to binge eating as the difference between what you are eating now, and such a drastic decrease in calories would be so extreme.
As your weight drops your maintenance calories will slowly decrease as well. You want to ease into what you are doing and not go crazy starting out because it is doomed for failure for many reasons. If you start losing weight you can start losing calories, but to slash them to levels that your body has probably never seen..EVER....right out of the gate is about the dumbest thing you could do.
lets get serious druff
what are you going to do once you reach your goal weight?
you will end up skinny fat
this is where most dieters fail, as they then resort to their old habits

maybe some salad
meal 5

this is how i always eat....i eat a lot
im trying to put on lean muscle atm, but if i wanted to lose weight, i either drop the olive oil, or decrease portion sizes and at the same time increase my vegie intake
i dont deprive myself of anything, but if i pig out 2 days in a row, i just eat less calorie dense foods for a couple of days
I went out earlier for a few errands and I hit a huggggge pothole and by the time I was done I worked up a huge appetite because I skipped breakfast.
My hands were rather greasy and I decided it would be best to wash my hands so I stopped at the nearest place which was a mcdonalds.
I went up to the register and ordered a classic grilled chicken sandwich (hold the mayo/add BBQ) and a diet coke and the girl asked me if I wanted to add fries to this order and then I thought of The_PHA's post in this thread and I politely declined.
PHA= GOD
Yep. The Mayo was 100 calories. The fries were over 400 calories. So you banked 500 calories right there. Now think about the loaded baked potato. That has more calories than the steak. Get the potato dry and load it up with salt, pepper and a very small slice of butter. You just saved 400 calories right there.
It's not about starving yourself, just make better decisions.
Another thing. Tomato Basil Soup. Mike Tyson has credited this for losing 100 lbs.
A can is like 200 calories. Sprinkle it with salt and pepper, and toss is 5 crackers, you are at 300 calories you are basically full for like 3 hours.
If you are truly serious about losing weight, go to your soup aisle at your grocery store, and Chunky has like 5 shelves of everything you can imagine for under 300 calories. The Vegetable Beef is top shelf.
Anybody notice that the crisis with obesity and Type II Diabetes in this country started to blossom in the 70s when they started shoving all this low fat shit down peoples throats tryign to convince them it was good for them. Reality is they traded fat calories for actually increased carbs overall. And the reality is that fat doesnt make you fat it is indeed extra calories. The body turns carbs into glucose in the body. Huge spikes cause huge dumps of insulin in healthy adults well when the body cant use the glucose that is bound by the insulin it converts it into fat stores mostly (some is stored in the liver in the form of glycogen as well and is indeed the second leading cause of fatty liver disease behind excessive alcohol consumption). Eventually the bodys system will start ignoring the sugar spikes and begins the progession to insulin resistant diabetes as the body begins to ignore the spikes to avoid whipsawing of your blood sugar but also simply because at a certain point your fat cells become nearly inundated and cant store anymore. (this is why ironicaly those people who are morbidly obese actually have lower numbers of diabetes overall then the general public ironically because their bodies have such a high number of adipose cellular tissue it can continue to convert the excess carbs into fat without the body ending up with sustained sugar spikes, doesnt do shit to save them from skyhigh cholesterol and other shit which can kill them much faster then diabetic complications however).
the biggest problem i notice is that druff talks alot about eating less and replacing lunch with cheese and crackers and stuff like that. This will never work you will always be hungry and you will no be able to keep it up. You have to eat alot but eat a diet of mainly salads chicken breast and fish. snack on fruits and veggies as much as you want. at first this will not get you full but over time your body will adjust to it. you obv have to do some sort of daily physical activities aswell, and stay away from bread as much as possible and any form of gluten
and also ask china for advice he knows alot about what your trying to do.
+1....nuts are a very good insoluable fiber source (nice way of saying they make shitting painlessly easy--over 75% of men 50 or older have internal hemriods, and Druff, that aint far off for you); but peanuts are not the best nut to select for that because of the calories--better choice is almonds or even cashews.
EATING IS JUST IN YOUR MIND. YESTERDAY I NEVER ATE ANYTHING TODAY I ATE A SUBWAY SUB WRAP. THAT ALL. THE LESS I EAT THE BETTER I FEEL IAM LIKE DRUFF I MUST HAVE MY COKE IN A CAN AT LEAST 3 ADAY BUT THATS WHEN I NO LONGER CARED FOR FOOD. I COULD EAT 10 WHEAT CRACKERS AND NEED NOTHING UNTIL THE NEXT NITE. I COULD EAT A SALAD A DAY FOR ONE WEEK AND WANT NOTHING ELSE BUT THOSE 3 COKES AND NEVER BE HUNGRAY ONE TIME. I LOST 98 LBS IN 2 YEARS. OK I LIED THOSE 3 COKES ARE REALY 8 THE REST IS TRUE. THE COKE IS WHY I DONT EAT
Before
oh snap, witteles is not gonna approve mark my words.
Druff its been 11 days, why no update??
Is it because you cant help yourself and been chugging Pepsi all day long like its going out of style??
You know this grandstanding Jew would be all over our faces if he was down like 5 pounds by now.
Over/under Valentines DAy for the date when Druff admits this was an epic FAIL?
I've lost 5 pounds so far, but haven't posted about it because it could easily be meaningless water weight.
As long as you follow this advice it will help you over time:

One third of the way there.
I've lost 10 pounds in 5 weeks so far.
Good job! Keep it up!
I realize you probably were out and about but eating at 5am before bed (based on your one thread) isn't the best thing for any diet.
if heavy training gives u sore head try swimming, sauna, steam room, the swimming will help tone as you lose weight.
any updates druff?
Telling you the same thing I told China. F#ck more and just don't think about it. I haven't the faintist idea who's in your love life and don't care. But if you need help to get sexually screwed I'm the man to clue you in on it. It's so God D#mn easy that even if you bat a .100 you going to be broke in a month or so.
But like most you're prolly too cowardly to ask for it.
Heh... guy can do almost everything around here but can't get laid.
Oops there is Ben however so I can't call him a virgin. And he does show merit being concerned about being around in the future for him.
And drink diet if you must. Sugar just f#cks you up. There's almost nothing you can buy in the store that isn't loaded to the hilt with sugar.
Still hanging at around 10-12 pounds down from the start, btw.
Hang in there, Druff.

I seem to be stalled at around 218-220.
This is obviously an improvement from about 232 where I started, but I'm also stuck here, and it's now been 2+ months. I was hoping to be around 210-215 by this point.
A few things have hindered the weight loss attempt:
- After going through 2012 without being sick for more than 24 hours (the first year in my life I've ever done that), I didn't do nearly as well in 2013. I had two long-lasting colds in January-February, thus making it difficult to exercise.
- I developed back problems in February, and they got much worse about 2 weeks ago. This has especially prevented me from exercising. I never had back problems prior to this, but sadly they mirror longtime problems experienced by my mom, so they are probably hereditary, but just took 41 years to appear.
- I have done well with laying off the Pepsi during the day and drinking water instead. I have also done well with eating very little during the day. I haven't done as well at night. I have been eating big dinners and drinking more OJ that I should late at night.
- I took a trip to Hawaii, where it was difficult to keep to the diet.
Unfortunately, with my back in really bad shape right now, I cannot do any kind of appreciable exercise.
I will try to drink less OJ at night, and eat smaller dinners, and see if that brings my weight down some more.
I will say that it was easier to get "off the Pepsi" than I thought it would.
I used to feel compelled to drink like 5-6 cans per day.
Now I just have one when I wake up, and that's it.
At first I was miserable drinking water in its place, but now I have totally gotten used to it. For the first 2-3 weeks I was thinking, "Wow this is awful drinking just water", but now I actually like and look forward to the water.
It's just so tough late at night when I suddenly crave the orange juice and have a hard time staying away from it.
http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsp...k-consumption/
New Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) research suggests that roughly 180,000 obesity-related deaths worldwide—including 25,000 Americans—are associated with the consumption of sugary drinks. The abstract, presented at an American Heart Association scientific conference in New Orleans, linked drinking sugar-sweetened beverages to 133,000 diabetes deaths, 44,000 deaths from cardiovascular diseases, and 6,000 cancer deaths. The researchers found that 78% of these deaths were in low- and middle-income countries.
Hard to type this without it sounding like I am trolling, which I am not.
But that just sounds like a lot of fucking excuses. "My back hurts" "I was sick" "I was on vacation" "The moon wasn't in the right phase" "My dick hurts"
You don't seem to be taking this very seriously, just like you have admitted to doing in the past. You don't have to type a novel convincing me that you are telling the truth. I believe that you believe it's reality. But the mind can be very tricky when it's convincing itself that it can't or doesn't want to do something. Could you really not exercise when you were sick? Or was that an easy out? Would sticking to your diet really be THAT difficult on vacation? Shouldn't be if you are "serious" this time. Your back? Well, back issues are a bitch. But what are you doing about it? Are you being proactive to resolve the issue, or are you just using it as an excuse to be lazy and not follow through on your plan?
Again, I believe that you could type a novel explaining why each of these things is true, and you may even believe it in your own mind. But if you were taking this seriously, you would have at least stuck to your diet on vacation. You're sick? Ehhh, ok. Back hurts? I guess I get it. Vacation time? Have a little fucking will power. Do you wanna see Benjamin get married, or do you want that extra can of pepsi and a cheeseburger? Think about it.
