So you've never seen anyone randomly hit over their head for 167 plate appearances?

Try making definitive judgments about a position player after 39 games, and you will get laughed out of any serious baseball discussion.

With that said, McGehee has had one good full season in his career, and that was five years ago. Last year he did hit .287, but he had 4 HR in 616 AB, which is pretty brutal for a third baseman.

So yes, the Giants would have been a lot better with Sandoval there instead. I still think the Red Sox are overpaying him, though.

Much like I didn't mind seeing Hanley Ramirez being allowed to walk, because again I think he is being overpaid given his poor defense and recurring injuries, even though he would have been a lot better than Rollins this year.
