Just to be clear, I'm not on the side of those who are stuck in 2020. My point is simply that we've been lied to far too many times on very important issues and so its hard to not look back on a lot of things and wonder what is true and what is not. If someone believes in santa or flat earth that's definitely a head scratcher but a person who thinks Trump was cheated in '20 in itself isn't a reason for me to dismiss them.

Early voting allows more citizens to vote. The more voters the better. Your country allows Presidential candidates to begin campaigning the day after an election has been completed. This means four years of advertising. Presidential candidates promote themselves constantly through every medium for 48 months. People know full well who they will vote for because of this "permanent campaign".

The biggest joke is 4 years of campaigning. The money coming from supporters over this long a time frame is probably very hard to keep track of. You should not have 48 months to raise money to flood media with your message. What counts is your track record and
no one is going to erase poor governing in the months leading to the next election.

No wonder there is confusion when voting. Your "states laws" mean the rules are different state to state
Time frames are established for early voting as they are for every possible form of voting. I never mentioned how much time should be allowed in any instance.

By the way, your "united states" all do it a bit differently whether voting in person or not.

As for your unanswered question of what is too early, call your state representatives and they will tell you. It may be different from 20 other states but that's not your concern.
Early voting is under the same restrictions as day of voting depending on your state.
You need the same personal information and the registrars will even have more time to deal with a suspicious ballot.

One question for you, when rules are applied, in this case for submitting votes, do you think regulators got sloppy in that one particular area.

In hindsight i think this debate will end up with more significance than first expected. There has been discussion on who the next person up will be post trump. Ive always assumed it would be DeSantis.

This is an overreaction the other way now. HeÂ’s never been for a single day anywhere near as popular in his own state as Desantis and Ohio is 3x as red as Florida at this point.

He does well with educated suburban guys. I knew heÂ’d do well in an academic debate against Walz, but heÂ’s a guy the more you see the less you like. He comes off as the last guy youÂ’d like to have a beer with to the rural voter that defines the GOP.

So unless you envision some world where the old chamber of commerce GOP is a big enough tent to win, he will struggle.

Shapiro would have been even better. Would have pretty much locked up Pennsylvania for Harris, and then it would pretty much be game over for Trump.

Kelly was a close second.

Not sure what was so appealing about Walz. I think her people got sucked into the whole, "Oh look, a masculine military veteran who can appeal to male voters!", and nobody vetted him properly. The fact that he had a lot of already-researched lies on his record should have been an immediate disqualifier, as well as his questionable time of departure from the National Guard. Furthermore, the masculine energy they were going for never materialized. His demeanor ranges between dopey sitcom dad and creepy closeted gay schoolteacher. No dude is gonna watch Tim Walz and think old school masculinity.

JD Vance wasn't chosen as a masculinity pick. He was chosen as a well-spoken intellectual type, and that's how he came off at the debate.

I didn't like the pick, but there's no question that he did very well at the debate, and that he's a smart guy. In fact, he's clearly the smartest among Trump, Harris, and Walz (though admittedly that's not an incredibly high bar). Walz is easily the dumbest.

They chose Walz for stupid reasons. It was an attempt to get back the rural white male vote -- or at least some of it. That demographic does not relate to him. He comes off as a spastic, semi-effeminate weirdo.

But I do understand why they didn't choose Josh Shapiro. Too many left wingers hate the joooooooos now, so Kamala and friends were afraid a lot of them would stay home on election day if they picked him. Yes, I know it sucks for libs to come to terms that they now have more anti-Semites in their party than the GOP.

Halfway through the debate the most common comment was both these guys are more qualified to be president. As I said before debate, JD was doing mock trials a decade ago at Yale. He's just exceptionally good at it and Walz was nervous.

I mean exactly no one is taking Donald Trump or Kamala heads up in Jeopardy or an IQ test against Walz. Kamala is an unknown, but it's very clear Trump is highly intuitive, but is definitely a guy who couldn't pass some standardized 8th grade exit exam.
