their only real play is to fire up a spinoff. that said, think they could squeeze out 3 more full seasons but i dont know if it would fly for the majority of fans. i mean honestly me personally i could watch peter dinklage eat a fucking apple for 47 minutes, hes that good, but unfortunately i think most people at this point are there to see two things; dragons and beloved characters die horribly.

Id be OK with a spinoff or two so long as it was gritty and dirty as the early seasons.

In the end we were all fucked by Martins apathy. If he finished the next book two years ago we would have an interesting few more seasons and they could put a nice bow on it. Instead we got the time waster that was season 5 followed by HBO saying enough of the bullshit we are going off script and ending it.

Now we get "the Hollywood ending" on HBO's terms and timeline. Is there really any doubt how this is going to play out? Season 6 cleaned up the mess and has everyone headed towards kings landing. Season 7 will be the fight for kings landing and the very last scene will be the final lanister vs Mother of dragons fight with The Imp saying "everyone stop fighting..... Jon Snow is here..... Jon what it is?..... oh the real fights in the north?..... everyone put down your weapons he need to start filming Hardhome part 2".

welp, its official apparently.


there are 13 episodes total left in game of thrones.


meaning there could literally be 10 actual hours of footage left to wrap up something like 2x as many divergent plot threads.

Im not happy with nerding out to one series ever and having the writer sit on the sidelines for a decade followed by somehow getting cut from the team. Not every athlete is Micheael Jordan, not every artist is Michael Angelo.

all i know is that they've been telling me that multi year winter is coming for 6 seasons and now that the dragons are ready to fight it's here. sounds like some sort of dragon made climate change conspiracy

I love GoT and read all the books after seeing the first series. Unfortunately GRRM is a lazy fucker who prefers lapping up the adulation than actually getting the job done. The Dunk and Egg stories would be a good choice for a spin-off. The three stories could easily be extended into a first season.

Maybe a bit more if the last ep is longer.


I'm peeved but given how hard HBO sweated the showrunners for more eps.. to have them stand by a firm no this long tells me they just couldnt have stretched it out without making it unwatchable.

Which I get.

But why not just collapse it all into one fucking 13-ep season?
