What is the government gonna do to resolve the trucking issue? Issue government checks to drivers?

Economics will resolve this. Obviously, there is not enough money to make driving worthwhile. Mumbles offered several observations that were new to me. The big transportation companies are not interested in changing their cost structure to solve your short term problem. It’s a lock out of sorts on the part of the transportation companies. Pretty much they give no shits.

Shipping will get more expensive and make the business attractive to new players.

My friend sub contacts drivers at the Houston ship channel….he’s paying through the nose for drivers, can’t find any…signing bonuses, only make 2 or 3 trips locally and pull $118k…home every night.

The U.S. government isn't going to do shit.

Being a truck driver sucks. You can make over $100K a year but it is a strain on your health. You have to take a ton of caffeine and whatever else just to stay awake. Getting a commercial truck drivers license is another pain in the ass.

Maybe the U.S. can import truck drivers from third world countries?

Expect to pay more for everything.

The issue is the economy is not going to self correct, we are entering a period that existed in the 70s and early 80s, a ten year cycle. Growth is exhausted in tech, and there are really no other catalysts other than government spending. Look for high inflation and flat growth for another 7 or 8 years. Nothing lasts forever, but as usual liberal policies only ever effect negatively the poor and middle class. Folks making over 6 figures will be fine. I don't give a shit if a loaf of bread goes to $3 or a gallon of gas goes to $7. But you know who does care, the lady at the Shell station I was at this morning who asked for $15 in gas and got $5 change.

The cataclysmic issue though is 25 years from now. There is nearly 50 Trillion in unfunded liabilities on the horizon. The best term to come out in the last 20 years is generational theft. But pigs like Pelosi and Biden, and McConnell for that matter don't give a shit. They will have been decomposing for 2 decades by then.

Biden’s $3.5 Trillion reconciliation bill or whatever you want to call it will NOT happen.

The debt ceiling is bullshit and they can just ignore it if they want to.

The debt is for past spending. Congress authorized the spending and borrowing years or even decades ago. There’s no requirement for them to authorize it again and no authority to unspend what’s already been spent.

The Treasury should flat out ignore it and dare the Republicans to go to court to force the US to default on its debt. Good luck with that.
