It's important to make distinctions when we talk about complicated or detailed issues, like the "intelligence community" or government in general in any country.
Like its citizens, the government has ideologues from all sides of the spectrum, to ignore or omit that is just plain ignorance.
So when you say "the intelligence community", or "the FBI", or any other bureaucracies, it's important to note that these bureaucracies consist of many people with many different beliefs.
It's inherent to put asside ideology when accepting the task or job at any government position, but it's ridiculous to assume that anyone is or will.
Tribalism amongst us is ingrained in our DNA and to deny that is delusional. Thats why some of the people that helped found this country wanted to outlaw political parties, they understood the dangers that it could manifest and has IMO.
So to insinuate that an entire department of any bureaucracy is, on board with what one individual, or small group in the same bureaucracy is doing, is just impetuous or plain ignorant especially if all the facts are not out.
