It's funny that people want to neg rep me on this site for stating obvious welfares and rights people in a first world country should have. Meanwhile:
Shits changing, your definition of first world country no longer applies. Deal with it you old shits.Quote:
Just 18 percent of the vote came from 17- to 29-year-olds — down from a 22 percent share eight years ago. Among those, Sanders dominated, winning 84 percent to Clinton's 14 percent.
The conflation of Sander's policy platform with communism is an example of the great fraud that the right-wing perpetrates on the ordinary masses who have no clue how rigged the economic game is for the super rich in the US.
Case in point is how hedge fund managers making billions only pay the dividend income federal tax rate on "carried interest", yet upper middle class workers at ordinary jobs pay almost twice that rate on marginal income at the top rate. So many middle and upper middle class Republican voters have been fooled by the political shills for the super rich for decades and have no fucking clue.
I have changed my mind, the greatest thing ever would be Sanders narrowly missing nomination but feeling he has enough support to still win general election
CAN YOU SAY 3RD PARTY RUN FOR PRESIDENT TO DESTROY THE ENTIRE ELECTION FOR THE LEFT!!
That would be HILARIOUS, and Sanders with his delusional socialist utopia mindset might just be crazy enough to do it.
Yeah he said he wouldn't, but that was before all the clueless millennials and their like started "rallying" behind their favorite communist in between snapchatting OMG WTF and hmu in between classes.
VOTE SANDERS 16!!
All that shows is that the Universities have been effective at brainwashing retarded college kids by indoctrinating them with a fairy tale like view of the world. Probably most of them have never had a job and still live at home with their parents, but they feel special because they now have a "cause."

In all fairness he did say he was going to tax Wall Street... he hasn't really said exactly how. But those dudes have some coin.
Whoever wins will have to deal with these liabilities sooner than they want to. Most Americans will feel the pain when these debts come due. Can't find the latest version of this chart.
I don't get this... People talk about entitlements with a very negative connotation. They then group Social Security with Welfare and Medicare... How is Social Security the same as those things. 60 year old people put money into Social Security for decades and were told it was there for them when it was time to retire. Then Ultra conservatives act like they are asking for free money or lump it together with welfare which is literally just free money.
If we want to ween off of social security I get it, but pay those people their money, they bought into the ponzi scheme early and deserve their money. The real issue is the high cost of Healthcare. That needs to be figured out quickly.
You do know that people get social security that don't necessarily pay into it. For many decades the government has been putting IOU's into the trust fund in the form of bonds with low returns. The government then uses the money for other projects. The bonds have low returns and the amount of people who are drawing from the account is growing. The first person that got SSI didn't contribute but were given money that others put into it. That is why it is an entitlement because many don't put money into the program but take money out.
This is true of every generation of young people. The universities aren't 'brainwashing" them, they are just kids trying to figure shit out for themselves. Eventually, they will get jobs, have a stake in society, and their views will change. So lets cut them a little break, at lest they are interested in something other than their social media accounts.
How is a kid supposed to "figure things out" when he is constantly bombarded with one way of thinking? What happens in Universities is the same thing that happens within religious groups. You really think professors teach a balance between Left and Right ideas on campus? If you attend 99 percent of American universities, you are taught Leftist views. The only way you get away from it is if you are studying the sciences. The left wing views run so deep, and so fanatical, many republican speakers have bodyguards in the extremely rare times they are invited to speak.
If everyone watched this, only half would believe it:

Republican to English translation
These so called 'leftist views" are aka proven scientific facts.
Cmoney you do realize your political views and the views of these "religious groups" are almost identical.
Cmoney you're a nice guy, cut back on the FOX News and the right wing talk radio/websites. I'd hate to hear you got brainwashed by some right wing militant group like yall quaeda or the branch Davidians. jk
Enough toxic political debate for today. I'll post some 100% pure stone cold facts so we can all come together in agreement, group hug. Have a great day guys.
I went to Cal, probably the most intolerant school in the nation for conservative views. Most Berkeley students were not political activists. They were there to get an education, get drunk, and get laid (as it should be). You are assuming that college kids actually are swayed by their professors' political viewpoints. 20 year olds don't give a rat's ass about the political views of "old people". They are much more influenced by their peers.
Not all leftist views are fact; you cant actually believe that. You truly believe everything that comes out of a professors mouth in regards to social issues is a fact? Nothing is an opinion and can be debated?
Some views I have are the same to those in religious groups. So what. Just because people can be foolish in one area (religion), doesnt mean they cant have wisdom in another. In fact one of the authors I most admire (and met before he died), is Christopher Hitchens who is very anti religion to say the least. The fact I can agree with religious people on issues, and then agree with Hitchens on issues, means I not willing to dismiss them just because many of the Left label them as nut jobs. I agree with a lot of Left wing policies as well. I think the Right is retarded on their stance in regards to abortion, global warming, gay marriage and drugs just to name a few.
Stop with standard "Fox News" comeback. I read all sides and take in account different view points all the time. The ones i think are foolish i dismiss and the others that I think work I keep.
They sure seem care about Sander's views but maybe that is peer driven. Who knows.
"Just 18 percent of the vote came from 17- to 29-year-olds — down from a 22 percent share eight years ago. Among those, Sanders dominated, winning 84 percent to Clinton's 14 percent."
Off topic, but lol at letting 17 year olds vote. Shit, even 18 is way too young imo.
You as well sir.
These back and forths are such a waste of time. No idea why I engage in them. Maybe you are right on some of your issues maybe I am right on some of my issues . But we will probably never agree or change each others mind so whats the point. Back to doing taxes now. GL sir
Not even sure if the above is accurate, but even if it is, it's unfair.
Recent Republican Presidents have run really bad with the situation they walked into, whereas Democrats came in when a recovery or growth was likely to occur no matter what.
Let's go back 40 years.
Carter: Inherited mediocre economy, with growing inflation problem. Only got worse while Carter was in office, and he was ineffective at stopping it. Stagflation hit by 1980, guaranteeing Carter's defeat.
Reagan: Came in during very poor economic conditions, and there was a mini recession for the first 2 years of his Presidency. However, the following years saw spectacular growth, and the inflation problem vanished. Got reelected in a gigantic landslide.
George HW Bush: Came in with a good economy. First two years in office went well. Recession started in early '91, more of a natural result of economic cycles than anything else. Did not take action quickly enough, but was also thwarted by a Democratic Congress whenever he tried to do anything to stop it. Defeated after 1 term like Carter.
Clinton: Took office as recession was taking place, and while things slightly improved in first term, he was so unpopular in 1994 that Republicans clobbered Dems in the midterms in shocking fashion. In second term, luckboxed into dot-com boom, which translated into huge growth which he really had nothing to do with.
George W Bush: Took office in 2001, right as dot-com bubble burst. Had to deal with fallout of 9/11 after just 8 months in office. Made various mistakes (in second term especially), but ran super bad as far as tough problems to deal with. Housing/banking crisis hit in 2008, which was both parties' fault, but he got all the blame.
Obama: Took office just as country was starting recovery from housing/banking crisis. Natural growth occurred during most of his time as President, but again, not because of anything he had done.
It's both. I went to one of the bigger party schools in California (UCSB), but there was also a lot of left-wing activism there, as well. In fact, UCSB oddly led the nation in campus violence related to the 1991 Gulf War protest. The administration building was burnt down, pipe bombs found in the library and elsewhere on campus, and other crazy shit.
You are correct that students are more influenced by their peers than their professors, but the professors and administrators set the tone for this to happen. The entire mood on campus becomes one where leftist political thought is sensitive, intelligent, and correct, while right-wing thought is evil, selfish, and bigoted. I dealt with this personally. I was one of the few conservative students at the school, and that was met with scorn and disdain, even if I tried to present my views calmly, respectfully, and without extremism.
Whatever the reason, it is undeniable that the college environment tends to turn into the fascist left thought police, and those who don't fall into line are often both ostracized and silenced. usually in the name of "promoting tolerance" or some BS like that.
Presidents get way too much credit or blame for the economy than their actual impact warrants.
Mind blown!! Numbers beyond comprehension! I knew a trillion was big, but not that big.
Non political question, no conspiratards please. Does any credible source know how long this is sustainable or how it ends? Take a guess...
Govt collapse or trim the budget and keep a running debt total for the foreseeable future? Anyone..

These candidates need to show their math. OTOH maybe it's better to just pretend it's all good.
Can we even run a surplus for one fucking day, how about a week? I seriously doubt it.
See above, Druff delivered an effective conservative hatchet job to the facts. Even had me doubting their significance. One of the few conservatives that doesn't make up shit or quote debunked lies all the time. He's careful about about what GOP bullshit he'll shovel.
lots of right wing nonsense itt
herbert you old cocksucker it isn't 1957 anymore the mick is dead you idiot
For the sake of being an alert and knowledgeable citizenry I'll watch this later..
NOTE: Stefan has a right wing bias and he's also a man made climate change denier(lol). This may be nothing more than a right wing hatchet job but I'll hear him out.

Molyneux just doesn't have a right-wing bent. He's a wannabe cult leader... Actually, he *is* a cult leader.

. Economists have done the math.
"Under Sanders, income and jobs would soar, economist says"
"Median income would soar by more than $22,000. Nearly 26 million jobs would be created. The unemployment rate would fall to 3.8%.
