In regards to taking shots, u might like this story. During the dot com boom, everyone was opening a new brokerage account. Sometimes the line were 100 deep. Friend of mine, with not a penny to his name, put on a business suit and walked into a major brokerage with his briefcase. It was a Friday morning and he wrote them a check for 25k to open a new account. They credited his account within minutes. He flipped it into 70k by that following Monday but then went down in a blaze of glory and lost it all before the brokerage found out the check bounced. Nothing came about it.
