This is actually true -- gay men are more likely to abuse roids than straight men, though there are plenty of straight men doing it as well.
But there is a huge emphasis upon fitness in the gay community. If you have big biceps and a six pack, you're gonna be far more appealing as a gay dude than if you don't have them. So a lot of gay guys feel pressured to look fit, and many of them resort to roids to make it happen, especially as they age and it gets tougher to build such muscle.
And yes, there are women who are very into muscular guys as well, but there are a ton of women who don't care about that (and some who actually DON'T like buff guys), whereas in the gay community it's almost a requirement. So you can be a straight guy with a mediocre body and still pull decent looking women (even if you're not rich), whereas in the gay community this is very tough to do.
I mention this because Chrissy has long been abusing roids and was obsessed with being muscular ever since he was like 18, and I don't think that's a coincidence. And I don't think his recent roid usage has anything to do with trying to look good for Stacy.

It's possible he just drove up to Tahoe for the day, if he couldn't get a suite there. You are correct that they are very easy with comp rooms at Harvey's during the weekdays, especially during the offseason of October/November.
