the last gsp we saw would win a decision soundly. but that was a long time ago.

i think gsp -360 is the appropriate line because bisping is very, very good at exploiting the exploitable. thats literally the one thing i admire about bisping, if you give him a chance to end the fight, he grabs the gold ring every time.

but gsp is such a technically conservative fighter, i dont think hes going to ever really end up in trouble.

again tho... he fucking retired. hes been spending years fucking his boyfriend in a hottub and drinking expensive french wine and smoking that *good* weed with skarbowsky.

if he gasses, bisping is going to convert a td and put him on his back and absolutely end this.

GSP looks bloated and a bit weird leading into the fight. No clue if that's good or bad. Given Whittakers success staying small, fast and fit coming up to 185 from 170 I'm surprised GSP is putting on the weight. Perhaps it's a style specific strategy if he believes he has a large wrestling advantage. Just seems risky, you don't want to have cardio issues vs a cardio machine like Bisping.

You're right, hard fight to call based on all the unknowns but I'm gonna pick Bisping to get GSP out of there late in 4 or 5. I think his toughness and fitness will be the difference in later rounds.

yeah i think the only way gsp avoids that fate is by being very, very successful with takedown -> top position in the first 2 rounds. like if he can spend 2 of every 3 minutes in top control, i think he can weather the 4th and 5th.

otherwise yeah, bispings just going to overwhelm him.

I think Bisping is going to win easily, I'm going to wager a Lamborghini on him.

I think Thompson makes more sense logically but if Thompson outpointed him, all they have done is legitimized Thompson v Woodley III which would be the absolute worst selling fight in mens MMA.

So yeah I think we could see Woodley next, because there is virtually no chance it would not end in a highlight reel KO and to some extent, take a bit of the stink off Woodley's brand.

Its as close to a mortal lock as we get in MMA.

Maia pieced Colby up for the first 200 seconds or so. Woodley will basically be committing legal aggravated manslaughter.

You guys seem to have a lot of faith in Woodley to put on an entertaining fight with Covington while I can easily see another snoozer happening. Woodley takes absolutely zero chances & has for a long, long time.

I think Covington is a hard guy to fight safe against. He recklessly presses forward. You might be right, perhaps Covington he will fight safe and we know for a fact Woodley will do the same thing given the chance.

I thought Rory MacDonald laid out a pretty good blue print to beat Woodley. He stayed in his face and threw a lot of volume. Woodley was so uncomfortable and almost seemed afraid. Covington might try to apply a similar pressure but his stand-up isn't refined and sharp like MacDonalds. I think Woodley will find a home for that right like he did vs Lawler.

Was there even a punch landed/thrown against Lawler before the KO. It was one the most boring 3 minutes(especially for a Lawler fight) & suddenly a punch landed. It was not on it's way to be FOTN is all I'm sayin'.

Look.. dont get me wrong, the last 50 minutes of Woodley's professional career are among the least impressive in the sports history, I'm not trying to minimize that.

But Colby will be the least talented & dangerous fighter he has faced since like early 2013.

I get it & agree that it has a chance to be a highlight reel KO but you guys seem to think it's a foregone conclusion that Woodley pulls the trigger & I'm just not convinced that happens at all.

I thought the first Woodley - Wonderboy fight was quite good when it happened, probably even awesome. The 2nd fight wasn't obviously, but clear your mind and re-watch the one at UFC 205. It was anything BUT boring. The Robbie Lawlor fight didn't go long enough to be boring.

The 2nd wonderboy fight was plodding garbage compared to the first, and the Maia fight was always going to be boring, because that's how it is if you have a decent strategy against the guy.

Maia and Wonderboy were the best submission artist and best striker in the division, by a country mile. Colby is a recklessly flawed striker who is bred to move forward even when its not a good idea. He gon' die, and it won't take 5 rounds for it to happen.

How do you think the fight will playout? I just think Covington with his sloppy aggressive style gives opponents no choice but to stand in there and fight. I also think he will feel a lot safer engaging vs a guy that hasn't shown any knockout power vs a sniper like Wonderboy.

You may very well be right but I'd never discount the possibility that Woodley circles around waiting for Covington to do something while Covington circles around waiting for Woodley to do something & suddenly the round ends & everybody goes WTF.

Look I get that Covington's style is PERFECT for a counter striker which seems to be what Woodley wants to be but I'm positive Covington's coaches also knows that & will change it up to the point it MIGHT be a boring ass fight. It could happen, as could your scenario.
