Just another well-written piece that made me LOL 3 times:

As a long time cry baby about the sun setting on the Golden Age of Wagering because of legalization I have come to admit I had the best MLB regular season of my life.
I attribute my success largely to BTTS. I also very often used BTTS (F7 especially) as a juice reducer with very few consequences. The age of easy data like Outlier and BPP contributed too
We will see what the post season brings. I doubt I will surpass my success with the Dodger post season blow ups of years past.
We only picked those tickets because it was a good deal. The potential ball factor was just a bonus.
Pretty much every between-innings warm-up ball was eventually thrown into our section by the center fielders, which was cool.
It was a good time. Coors is a great park, and the weather was perfect.

the MLB officially recognized the Negro Leagues as being "Major" in 2020
so how good were players in the Negro Leagues comparatively___________?__________very, very good imo
Satchel Paige pitched in both leagues - even though most of his MLB career was during his 40s for a few of those years he had a better ERA than when he was much younger and pitching in the Negro Leagues
Willie Mays played just one year in the Negro Leagues and batted only .239 - his first full year in MLB he batted .274
Roy Campanella played several years in both leagues and in some of those years had a higher BA in the MLB than in the Negro League - see link
Larry Doby also played several years in both leagues and his BA was only slightly higher in the Negro Leagues than in the MLB - see link

Shees, what happened to the bullpen there? who has tiebreak? Didn't see that coming
Now the comeback. Great game.
Oh ffs, Lindor, really?
We have to load up on Braves here, right? Mets already have clinched. Outside AZ, everyone is loading on Braves here. My book doesn't even have line posted yet. Feels like they are going to -290 ML us. Books can get rich on this game
oh fuck, -445, they ruin everything
Now Sale scratched with back spasms?
What a day.
Just live bet Mets at +290 middle of 2nd. Its baseball, weirder things have happened. Braves trotted out their (normally) top bullpen arms in game 1.
Soler immediately doubles to lead off the braves 2nd.
I bet o.5 runs +185 second inning after Mets didn't score. I might win, but I missed a lead off win by like 2 inches
I am already on inning 3 Braves to win inning +170. Tie loses. I have feelings of handshake agreements
well we gave back our winnings. Ump tried to help me out.
I am skipping ahead to Braves win inning 6 at +205. I trust bottom of Braves lineup more today than top.
I can't get a hit against a guy who is on pitch 110. I blame Olson who won't just take his walk.
Go gut at this point.
Kinda feels like Mets just laid down their bats for game 2.
It's over for the Dbacks.
Shitty situation for them.
Lets go Braves!
We move on. Skubal v Frambar.
The Astros are something this time of year, but this Skubal kid is the biggest thing out of Kingman, Az since Michael Fortier. Kid seems tough as nails, but we will see in playoffs. I have a feeling he will show up. Feels like some type of first 5 game.

r.i.p. Pete Rose - (Charlie Hustle) a truly great player who has a checkered legacy who died yesterday
from the article:
"For millions of baseball fans, Rose will be known mainly for a number, 4,256, his total of hits, the most for any player in the history of the game. But he was a deeply compromised champion."
he was banned from the MLB in 1989 for illegal gambling including on baseball - he is also ineligible for the Hall of Fame
Rose later admitted he bet on MLB games but never against his own team

Padres x Astros +2955 WS
Another captain obvious play cause baseball is random lol. You really don’t need my help do you?
O’s & Astros series winners parlay +145
Thinking about F2 tie +125 & F3 +210 KC Balt (presumption of a tie) but I might be bordering on gluttony
These SGP profit boosts are the devil, but they don't have high limits, so just fun sweats. Just a bet that Astros get to the bullpen.
Run Line: HOU Astros -1.5
DET Tigers @ HOU Astros
Total Hits by the Player - Including Extra Innings (Listed player must be in starting lineup for bets to stand): Altuve, Jose - Over 0.5
DET Tigers @ HOU Astros
Odds:
+294
Clearly making it through the gauntlet of the AL Central produced battle-hardened teams that these weaker divisions can't compete with.
I bet so much baseball today. All little shit but I lost every inning bet and was down like $500. Was pissed and fired $500 on o.5 8th inning in Mets/Brewers and closed my app with like a 1-20 record for the day and, I kid you not, up .52 cents. Felt better than the winning days.
Can I say again that the wildcard series is just plain weird?
Why have the lower seeded team play 0 games at home and 3 on the road? What's the point? If the travel for 1-1-1 is too burdensome, why not make it 1-2 or 2-1? Bizarre.
Even more bizarre is the fact that both visiting AL teams swept it 2-0, and the Mets were on the way to doing the same until blowing the lead late.
The only higher seeded home team to dominate was the Padres, but that was mainly because the Braves were injured and tired.
Took a gander at game 1 NLDS tickets for the Dodgers. Expensive!
Right now the seats I like to buy are about $350/each. No thanks. But I'll wait this out... perhaps 6-24 hours before the game, it will crash. I'll have Ben on alert.
Said it before.
Season is too long.
Too many playoff teams
Playoff format get increasing longer. November baseball is idiotic. Kids dialed out of baseball months ago.
Players have a rhythm and players benefit from play not going cold for a week plus. Dumb
The Glasnow and Musgrove blow ups right at the finish line speaks volumes but everyone is deaf. THE RESULT IS NOT ENTERTAINING AND THEREFORE NOT GOOD FOR BASEBALL.
Ploppies will be knee deep in football and I’ll be glued to hockey in November. tgull will be watching the Trump Super Bowl
Milwaukee probably going to pull it out despite almost getting swept 2-0 in the series. 0-0 game, back-to-back homers in the 7th.
Would've been unfair to the Dodgers if the Mets won, as they'd be facing the team with the better record in the NLDS, despite finishing with the best record. Remember when the Dodgers and Giants faced each other in the FIRST ROUND despite Dodgers having 106 wins and Giants 107? Rdiciulous.
As it stands, the Brewers and Padres finished with the same record. Padres better though.
I figured out why Dodgers NLDS tickets so expensive, though. It's because they made the playoffs for 12 straight seasons... but something is different this time. So people were bored of the NLDS through 2023, but.... there's a certain player on the team who wasn't there in prior years.
Look around sports in general, ticket prices are way up, even on the resale market. For all the talk of money being tight and inflation people are buying sports tickets. NFL prices are crazy especially for the teams that have larger fan bases and travel well.
In your case you also have SD a short drive away so both fan bases are buying tickets. Phillies tickets for this weekend are over $300 to just stand in the outfield. Add in the fees and you see the money people are willing to spend.
LAD Flaherty pulled game one for Yamamoto
The Sinking of Battleship Yamato is one of the most significant events in the history of naval warfare.
Looks like I jinxed the Brewers, who are becoming the new Dodgers of the postseason.
I want to see the Mets lose just to put an end to the annoying orange OMG thing.
With that said, Dodgers match up better against the Mets than the Phillies. But they gotta beat the Padres for me to even think about that.
Road teams so far are 6-3 in the 2024 postseason, and all 6 wins have been as dogs.
