Now that the NBA has started, I think I will be watching for those halftime blowouts and bet on the behind team for 2nd half.
Those worked out well last year, especially once I refined the method.
Here's the conditions under which I will bet:
- Losing team down 20 or more at halftime.
- Losing team either favored pre-game or no higher than a +6 dog.
- Winning team is not one of the very top-ranked teams in the NBA. This means no Cleveland, no Golden State, no San Antonio.
- Losing team is not one of the NBA's worst teams
- It is before March 1
Of course, I will have to feel out the line in each of these games and see if I feel the bet is worth it, but I'm only going to bet if all of the above are true.
The best bets in this spot are on the home favorite. In general, making these bets on the home team tends to be better, as they seem less inclined to completely give up when in front of their home crowd.
