For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

tropical Atlantic.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.

Double gut check. Hanna in Tx today and Douglas smacks Hawaii tomorrow which is very rare to begin with taking aim at Oahu where Honolulu is. The potential for major flooding there can’t be discounted with the mountains just wringing out those storm clouds along with winds easily at Major Hurricane force at those elevations likely
I've always found NOAA Weather Radio interesting. You can stream most of the country's stations online here:

I mean come on Sonatine. There is a potential hurricane heading for Miami and you are analyzing penny stocks. If you start a thread like this you have to keep it up. I told you this was not as easy as it looked. Wait until September, which is the peak season. You might just want to relinquish control of this thread to me.
OH SHIT WE ARE FIGHTING A WAR ON THREE FRONTS

Absolutely unprecedented bloodbath incoming. Possibility of a perfect storm wiping out everything south of the Mason Dixon line if the Hawaii force gathers momentum and moves about 3950 miles northeast in the next few hours, which my projections indicate is 100% probable.
Stock up on iodine because Trump will probably try to nuke it to dissipate the energy before Russia and China use advanced weather manipulation space based technology to guide the super hurricane directly to Washington, and remember to sterilize your iodine because by now the entire iodine manufacturing/supply chain is filthy with covid.
11k for installation of accordion style hurricane shutters........ Not to “board up” using metal/plywood.

guys its hard enough to keep you all safe without tgull's help, dont make it harder by ignoring good advice.
pack up whatever you love and flee to whatever northern states will have you.
The last one totally whiffed on Florida, so now 48% of the state has had the chance to reaffirm to themselves that weather forecasts are part of the fake news deep state collusion witch hunt hoax.
A perfect storm.
literally cribbing a plot line from House of Cards trump is going to raid FEMA to pay for unemployment insurance etc.
The TOTAL disaster relief allocation at the federal level has run between 6-8 Billion a year the previous decade. That’s for all states not just red ones and it’s for more than hurricanes. I’m willing to let go without research that more money goes to “Red States”, but it’s far from all of it.
The state of Illinois has a formal request into the US Congress for $40B to prop up, not cure, the states pension liabilities the state operating budget and general indebtedness. A complete level set bailout would be magnitudes higher. Estimated unfunded liabilities are ~$350B
The state of California “CalPERS” has estimated unfunded liabilities of $750B.
So Walter - Florida says you can keep the $2B for the next hurricane. Our state has well over 10B escrowed through insurance payments over the last 15 years since Andrew. We have 12B of unfunded pension liabilities which is completely fine with our yearly budget and population growth rate.
You are literally comparing Airplanes to Oranges in terms of size of problems.
I'm talking about helping with the effects of Covid.
I'm not opposed to hurricane relief. The government should help people who have been hit by tragedy. But the Republicans are saying "no blue state bailouts." Well fuck them. A disaster is a disaster whether it's a hurricane or a virus.
Also, Florida is going to be underwater soon if we don't do something about climate change. So toss in a little money for that while we're helping people rebuild their oceanfront properties.
So how much should Illinois get then? How about the rest of the states? What if a state is managed well and doesn’t need money do they get some too?
If your position is we should throw Illinois 1-2 Billion to keep them above water for a month or three under the guise of “COVID Relief” then I guess that’s not completely out of bounds. If it’s we need 40B to start plus another 500B for....
1 California $152.80 Blue
2 New York $139.20 Blue
3 Massachusetts $77.00 Blue
4 New Jersey $65.90 Blue
5 Illinois $61.80 Blue
6 Texas $51.00 Red
7 Pennsylvania $47.50 Blue
8 Connecticut $38.80 Blue
You might have to start to question the fiscal decision making of a certain party and question if a bailout is appropriate.
You get to choose, by and large, the decisions that lead these states into debt. It wasn’t Covid or Hurricanes or global warming.

Those states have subsidized the poor ass red states every single year since the 70s. Basically the blue states subsidize the low tax rate south year after year, so that is really disingenuous. Every year if you look at who gets the most return for taxes paid, the takers will all be red states getting sometimes $4 for every dollar they add while the responsible blue states will pay more than they get back. Basically the south is a large welfare state. Cuomo just pointed this out while arguing with McConnell over this and laughed at his notion states should declare bankruptcy given all the red states all takers and broke .. NY pays $120 billion more than they get back every year. Kentucky gets $150 billion more than they pay in. Whole state is on food stamps and aid.
That has been the case for decades. Blue states subsidizing the welfare south.
Combination of factors. You’re blacker, thus poor, but you also are non-union and wages are low, thus a larger percentage of your population needs federal assistance to pay for health care they don’t have through jobs and food assistance. You also have the highest disability rates in the country because your populace is fat and unhealthy. Either way, the idea that blue states are making out on this deal is laughable. Red states in the south are welfare states. That’s part demographics and part that they are obese and right to work states.
Back up? We are talking Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and the rest of the slave states. There isn’t any back up. Your demographics are of your own making.
Those liabilities Daly listed are largely pensions. Which is also why a smaller percentage of blue states need assistance, and are net donators as they already have health care. Not to the degree they used to and now even a California isn’t the straight bankroll they used to be, but in general, blue states pay for the sins of red states whether it be slavery, gluttony, etc. Have for decades.
