Yeah, Mets tough guys. Shortstop in a cast and nothin vs Dodgers
Thought I heard last night that Thor squats 500lbs but no one else on his team would have his back.
Tonight is a mess. gonna skip

I heard he dl 605lbs
Hosmer or moustakas would fuck him up regardless of how much weight he can lift
Or they could just send Perez the tank after him
Has anyone seen a baseball player try to fight? No one has Kyle Farnsworth so they should all STFU and play.
Farnsworth charges the plate...

What a team
Congrats sizzle
What an epic error that was. From hero to goat. Mets are obv toast. You don't come back from a 14 inning loss in game 1 and that error in game 4. Just doesn't happen.
Mets' terrible bullpen responsible for losing this World Series.
That, and Daniel Murphy became human again.
Amazing how mediocre this team looked once Murphy returned to earth (even with Granderson still hitting).
Congrats on the WS win and the bet, JSearles.
I don't really follow baseball anymore and have never bet a baseball future, but why in the hell were last year's pennant winners 33-1 to win?
Is this a relatively normal future for a team that could have been perceived as fluky (last year) or was it massively disrespectful?
The above posts were why I was rooting for the Mets to win this thing, even though I typically root against the team who beat the Dodgers.
I knew jsearles would be unbearable. Instead of simply enjoying his team winning the World Series after 30 years, he actually scanned this long thread to respond to months-old posts criticizing the Royals. Unbelievable.
Oh, and Volquez did have a very unspectacular season. 3.55 ERA and 1.308 WHIP is nothing to get excited about, especially in 2015 when pitching numbers overall are far better than they used to be.

go cubs!
Cubs have a lot of k.c royals in them but even more talent which is scary cus the royals are amazing.
The Dodgers would have won Game 5 with even the slightest bit of situational hitting. They blew the last ELEVEN at bats with runners in scoring position. 11!!! And they still only lost 3-2.
The Mets won the Dodgers series because Daniel Murphy was off the hook plus the Dodgers spun their wheels with runners in scoring position. In low scoring affairs like we saw with Mets-Dodgers, having one player hitting a home run each game is huge, especially when on top of another player hitting really well (Granderson). The Dodgers only had one hitter to answer that in Justin Turner, who hit .500 in the series.
I'm not making excuses for the Dodgers here. They beat themselves, especially in Game 5.
I'm saying that the Mets had a crappy bullpen even in that series, but they squeaked by in the closest possible fashion (a one-run win in the deciding game where they otherwise didn't pitch well) thanks to the Dodgers' failures.
The dodgers seem to lack heart, and team unity.Don't underestimate heart ,and a team that plays as one, combined ,those two combos crush talent, and if you have all 3, well , then you win multiple world series titles.
When you have the highest payroll in MLB, and your best hitter all year is a 30yr old journeyman who is not even arb. eligible yet, that does not bode well for postseason success.
Just driving home from the rally. Initial estimates of 800,000+
I was curious what Jonny Gomes act would look like after the Royals won. Gomes went full retard after the Red Sox won in 2013.
The attention stealing red, white & blue suit at White House. Calm down fag (flag).
The Red Sox were very similar in 2013. Deep roster of something less than super stars - but a team. Don't make it about you dude.
The Royals were very much the team too. Would a guy who wasn't even on the active playoff roster try to steal the spotlight again?
Really interesting to see the credit he has gotten for coaching the kids up. Looks like he knows his role too.
Pretty soon he'll be free to interview for the Dodgers manager opening. Introduce the alien concept of team.
Loved the vid.
Greinke opts out for realz.
All the big spenders licking their chops. This year it's possible to buy two #1 aces. No BOGO deals though it will cost you 50-60mill per year.
So a Pakistani Muslin who once played little league sits down with his slide rule to discuss the merits of a big dollar signing with some guy who worked for Tampa Bay.
You know who opts out next? Yup, Kershaw 2018.
Given where the Toronto Blue Jays were with contracts and talent they realized this was a great spot to take a run at a ring. I respect the will to win.
The Dodgers either lacked the front office talent or heart and passed in July. Maybe they felt they were further away than just a starter like Price and some bullpen help. But their window was closing.
They are gonna make the same foolish value decisions with their big wallets the Red Sox have, especially post Epstein. Remember this guy Zaidi nursed a the tit of Billy Beane in Oakland. His introduction to the game was not high school baseball but subscribing to Beane's Abstract in high school.
Personally, the greatest story would be Theo Epstein SPENDING the Ricketts money. Yeah, your gonna spill some with a 32 year old. But the Ricketts are committed to winning. When that family speaks, I believe them.
Cubs got Madden. Dodgers .... prolly Gabe Kapler.... their choice will no doubt stun you.
Good luck with your rebuilding years.
Apparently, the Dodgers gave Kirk Gibson an interview. lol If ownership picks the manager, they may be fucked.
Also, I think Jordan Zimmerman is the sleeper starter this year.

I would like to see the Dodgers keep Greinke (provided they don't have to give him an insane contract) and sign Zimmerman.
If you're a big market team, you need to stop fucking around with Brett Anderson and Brandon McCarthy type signings and go for some of the big boys to establish a killer 1-2-3 rotation.
Dodgers essentially gave away Game 3 to the Mets because Anderson was awful (totally worn out) and Alex Wood was continuing to fight inconsistency.
