The missile defense system you guys have been sinking an extraordinary amount of money into might actually be totally obsolete and ill conceived.
Russia was making a big deal about their western border and how NATO/USA was pinning them in and deploying anti missile systems... rightly so they had reason to be very concerned.
Now the Russians have a drone submarine that is a battle fleet destroyer, your aircraft carriers are now a soft target.
The Chinese, they're increasing their defense budget. And to be quite honest every dollar the Chinese invest is probably at least five dollars compared to US spending.
Warfare is constantly evolving, drones are becoming more fashionable, and China has the ability to mass produce extremely cheaply and has a huge manufacturing infrastructure advantage.
The manner then can reverse engineer and manufacture a product is startling.
The news is not about the news anymore, it seems to be more concerned with entertainment and manipulation then anything else.

I've seen some testing videos and I'd not be surprised if it was legit. This concept is not particularly challenging.
The MSM does not talk about military spending at all. I think they are worried talking about military spending would actually cause people to support Trump more. For good or bad, most people are actually reassured by knowing we spend a lot of $$ on our military, whether this is justified or not. It probably has to do with human psychology from evolutionary times, where we equate being better armed to safer, although that may not be the case in our modern society.
For example, if the media actually talked bout these supersonic missiles, then Trump would respond we are spending even more on technology to protect us from these missiles, and his popularity would increase. So the media just won't talk about it at all. Nothing causes a society to support a current leader more than rallying around an external military threat, so the MSM has to be careful and doesn't really touch military issues at all, unless it is to report stuff that makes our military look incompetent, such as plane crashes or shootings.
