Get a lawyer
Sue the state Nevada prior to them filing charges, Bitcoins are property and thus tthe search was illegal.
Go to war when you get charges filed.

Best case scenario you win because Federal government deems Bitcoin property and not currency.

Worst case scenario you lose do like 3-5 or less with good behavior and probably end up with a Supreme Court case eventually declaring Bitcoin a currency and you are forever considered to godfather of Bitcoin.

I think Micon might view these items as win/win.

Hypothetically speaking, if a freelancer was to be contracted to make more videos like the one above, would there be any legal concerns?

The question of his bitcoin is a big one.

I have to imagine he was at least smart enough to keep a backup of them, in case his computer got stolen or the hard drive had a terrible crash.

This had nothing to do with bitcoins, it was about operating a gambling site.

And honestly when BTC was 1000+USD each, maybe that plan would have happened. But he basically had one card left to play with any measure of grace and he played it.

On a related note, look at how hes living. Hes near the beach in what appears to be a fairly affluent neighborhood. Now look at what those areas charge in terms of rent.

My point being; there is no money for lawyers. Not in the bank, not in his bitcoin wallet. All of that is earmarked for rent/food/health insurance/making Martha feel almost safe.

Honestly for me the most Micon thing about this is choosing Antigua, which is horrifically expensive if you dont want to live in a cinder block hut, instead of Costa Rica, which anyone with a middle class nest egg can retire to. I still think that perhaps they had enough evidence to search but not enough to charge.

It's also possible that the main goal was to shut the whole thing down, and while they still plan to file charges, they aren't that worried if it turns into a fugitive on the run situation.

I would think at this point Micon is fairly well off. He was 50% owner of seals, and he was talking about bitcoin when it was like 10 bucks.

As for going to Antigua, it's not a bad idea now because it really doesn't change anything for him as far as possible charges are concerned. However, when/if charges are laid, then it's a different story. It's more than just pissing the government off. It's another crime in and of itself.

In terms of his video, it was a bit ridiculous. To act like he was doing nothing wrong but just a victim of a "police state" is juvenile. And to say that they "stole my stuff" is downright idiotic. A friend of mine who went to Penn State was friends there with a local small time pot dealer.....the cops used to "raid" his apartment once per month. Micon got in at 18 bucks. Plus he's made a shit ton from swc rake. Additionally Micon gets to keep bitcoins from dead accounts (for those that don't remember SwC used to have a clause that after 6 months inactivity the casino could confiscate bitcoins). There's very little chance Micon is in that much financial difficulty except if he has difficulty liquidating the coins. Mison has also made comments in past interviews that financially is is very secure and didn;t need to worry about things like paying for his daughter's education.
