    definitely qualifies, that movie sucks!

About a Boy with Hugh Grant, generally well reviewed movie but I think it perhaps qualifies for guilty pleasure when it's a guy liking it.

Pitch Black is a pretty cool flick, Riddick is a kick ass character.

Those are just solid sci-fi movies there. Vin Diesel looks like a meathead, but he's actually a pretty big nerd. He's still a huge D&D player.

Good news, everyone. There's a new Riddick film scheduled to be released in 2013, written and directed by the same guy as the first two.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riddick_(film)

That guy, David Twohy, burst onto the Hollywood scene by writing The Fugitive in 1993. His career then took a pretty major step backwards after writing Waterworld in 1995.

    Are you serious?

That movie is fucking amazing. Both Chris Tucker and Gary Oldman kick ass in that movie. Even the damn costumes, by Jean-Paul Gaultier, are great.

I would call the 5th element a decent movie. Willis movies that I love that would fall under the guilty pleasure thing would be last boy scout, the jackal, and die hard 3 and 4.

also any Bruce Campbell movie thats not in the evil dead trilogy or Bubba Ho-Tep is a classic guilty pleasure.

I did find the Winona Ryder subplot to be annoying, though, because it made it harder to feel sorry for Lucas.

He was this super nerdy kid all into the pretty redheaded girl, but he had the "pretty Tomboy" Winona Ryder all into him, and he was oblivious to it. They should have just done away with Winona's character. It didn't fit with the rest of the movie.

Everyone said that this movie sucked, but I actually liked it.

Yes, Kevin Costner was arrogant and the statue of himself at the end was pretty damn obnoxious, but the rest of the movie was a lot better than most people gave it credit for.

Okay, I admit the whole ending was lame, but up until that part, I thought the movie was pretty good.

This movie was surprisingly good, but it was only a moderate success, and it's rarely talked about:

It came out in 1999, and is a must-see for anyone who was even a casual fan of Star Trek.

I actually talked about this movie recently with my girlfriend, and we both agreed it was underrated and very entertaining.

Even the special effects were good.

Here's another movie from the "Surprisingly Good From the Late '90s" genre.

My friends dragged me to see this in 1997, and I was sure it was going to be awful.

It was actually fun and unexpectedly clever.

Ken Scalir told me to rent this about 20 years ago:

Really funny movie, especially if you liked Marx Brothers films.

This movie took in less than $1 million at the box office.
