One of the sites that I frequent has started shooting 60 frames per second (like the new Hobbit movies). While I didn't care for it in the Hobbit movies for porn it is simply killer.
In 10 years no one will leave the house.

example?
edit: nvm, don't need an example. anyone else have an example from a straight site?

What's so good about it? Super slow-mo facials?

A lot of people are put off by high framerate video because it's very jarring and feels "too real", unlike the 24fps cinematic look. I've never seen 60fps porn, but in this case I'd imagine that would actually work in its favor.
People seem to be resisting high quality audio in phone calls too, because I guess that also feels weird. Eventually I'm sure we'll all adapt.
BTW, YouTube will be rolling out 60fps video soon.

We are shooting in 4k and 96 FPS for the first time tomorrow with Tori Black with a GH4, Panasonic
Will post pics

I assume you're talking about choppiness? I think it's more accurate to say the higher the frame rate, the more you can slow something down without getting choppiness. For example you could slow down that 96fps footage by a factor of 4 and play it back smoothly at 24fps. Occasionally I shoot stuff at 60fps and slow it down 2x, since my projects are set to 30fps.
But yeah, slowmo is the usual reason for shooting at high framerates. Actually playing stuff at high fps is still pretty uncommon, but I guess we'll be seeing more of it soon. My brain still isn't used to seeing videos played back at 48fps (like the Hobbit) and above.
Just saw your ninja edit cmoney, and must say I'm a big fan of the DSLR look in porn.
I've also been looking hard at the GH4 and thinking of getting one myself.
You are absolutely right on the choppiness. That is exactly what it is. I am not a video guy, so I just pick up the technical stuff here and there in passing. If you film at like 24 fps and then slow down the video then you see the choppiness and it doesnt seem natural. If you shoot at 60 or higher and then slow it down it looks natural. Our system controls frame rate so that is why it is important.

From what I hear, it's amazing bang for your buck. The body and lens I use set us back 5k, and lacks many of the key features offered by the GH4 (namely 4k resolution, 96fps, continuous filming). The only real drawbacks I'm aware of is that it sucks in low light (not a problem for you), some audio glitches (supposedly fixed by firmware updates), and 4/3 sensor if you're particular about that.
Wait, what do you mean your system controls the framerate? Users can adjust the speed on the fly? I forgot what exactly your product is.
The main issue people have is that in real life if you swing your head what you see is blurred. These higher frame rates seem unnatural to the eye.

This actually brings up an interesting topic.
Eventually there will be realistic 3-D porn to where you can feel like you're actually watching the action happening in front of you.
Taking it a step further (though this probably won't be perfected in our lifetimes), eventually there will be robots made that will be able to perfectly simulate the look and feel of a real woman. It's a REALLY long way off (if ever) that such a robot would be able to take the place of a human in a conversational sense, but for sex it would be a lot easier to create. I know that Futurama did an episode about this, where Fry fell in love with a robot version of Lucy Liu.
But if you had a robot that could perfectly simulate a real woman sexually (and to where you could have her look exactly as you want), would there be anywhere near the motivation that there currently is to be with a real woman?
And regarding the realistic-looking 3-D porn, perhaps in future generations, young people are going to laugh at the old people who had to jerk it while staring at a computer screen.
