If you notice anything else about reputation is suddenly not working now, please post it here.
Also, do not engage in "rep wars" or abuse the rep feature or I will ban you from using it.

sonatine: rewarding people for being terrible?
what he said
Black cocks for anyone who even cares about rep score. It's literally "internet rep".
Nice change Druff, and obviously agree with it. Otherwise, this all just becomes one big and skewed popularity contest.
Why does rep even exist?
Do we really need a numerical system to give us a sum 'score' of what people think about each other?
Here is the reasoning behind that decision:
I realize that rep is somewhat of a popularity contest. That's fine, and I knew that when I implemented it.
However, the ability to GIVE rep should not be tied to how popular someone is.
Every user in good standing here should have that ability, unless they are abusing the rep feature.
But someone abusing the rep feature is independent of them being a crappy poster. You can have great posters abusing the rep feature just because they dislike certain people here, and you can have awful posters legitimately wanting to give positive or negative rep to a post they like/dislike.
Take someone like garrett, for example. A lot of people here don't like him, but he also makes a lot of quality posts here. That's not to say all of his posts are good, but a lot of times he adds a lot of useful/good information to conversations, especially about poker legality type issues. I want someone like him to be able to give rep.
Long-time posters with negative rep generally have it for very good reason. They're far more likely to abuse the rep system than well-respected posters.
You can argue that there's not a 100% correlation, but to say that there's none at all is foolish.
Also, when considering a new rule or modification, it's probably not a good idea if the only people who will approve of it are the absolute worst and most-loathed members of the community.
I've not received a single neg rep yet.
Quite proud of that fact.
not sure how poor alvin made that list
Everyone starts with 10.
A few people got an artificial boost at the beginning when I accidentally left on an option to give people more than 1 point at a time.
You have already given reputation the maximum amount of times allowed within the last 24 hours. Time until you can give reputation again: 22:40:38
