I talk to plenty of Dodger fans around the water cooler and at kids soccer practice, etc. I don't recall anyone carrying water for Kershaw this year. Everyone accepts that Father Time and back injuries have caught up to him and he isn't an ace anymore. If Kershaw had been named the starter instead of Buehler, Dodgers fans would have revolted. This isn't a Kobe situation where fans stubbornly stay on the Titanic as it sinks to the bottom.

Nationals +142 really does seem like a steal though. I don't think anyone expects the Dodgers to score more than 1-2 runs, so that is putting a lot of pressure on Buehler and a shaky pen.

Probably Dodgers and under would be a good parlay (I dont even know if they let you do MLB parlays) as if the Dodgers win it is most likely going to be a 2-1 type game.

kershaw was skech in the playoffs when he was dominant. now you can't even go to him as your #1 or even rely on him when you need a win.

Yes, all Dodgers fans are aware that Kershaw isn't Kershaw anymore, and never will be again.

It was apparent last year when his velocity dropped, never to return. He's been able to use his experience and reliance on other good pitches to still be reasonably good, but dominant Kershaw is gone.

The ace of the 2020s will be Walker Buehler. In fact, he's the ace of the late 2010s.

Strasburg is an amazing postseason pitcher who hasn't gotten credit for it because the Nats have never won a series. Dodgers have their work cut out for them tomorrow. Hopefully they can run up his pitch count and get to that horrendous bullpen. That should be their strategy.

Let’s start with the good news cause I’m all about the sunshine. I like Buehler. Let’s not get all hyperbolic like you did with Urias. He’s got a bit of trick or treat in the regular season. What do you want for $570K?

In the big spots he’s been gritty lately in the playoffs. There was an interview he did yesterday that impressed me too. That’s a kid who pitches like he doesn’t care. Who loves the competition. Who embraces the big game. He’s a winner mentally.

Similarly, I like the Dustin May goofy lookin kid too. He just attacks. He’s got that blank stupid look which is prized in pitching.

After one of the recent playoff games they immediately ran “Truth Be Told: Rick Ankiel”. Fantastic. The documentary delved into his rough childhood and how his baseball ability rescued his self worth. When he fucked up during one playoff game he mentally collapsed. The yips ensued.

Reminds me of playoff Kershaw. We are always on the quest to explain his failure against the best competition. Expectations vs early Dodger playoff failure? Maybe he was simply over rated. We will never know for sure. It’s a results business so fuck him. Buehler ain’t Kershaw.

Which leads me to wonder how in gods name can you tell me Kershaw is slated to come off the bench tonight? How can this possibly be a good idea?. If these guys are analytics why are they throwing out the book tonight?

Bad playoff bullpens has been a Dodger brand for a decade now. It’s like a deliberate self sabotage. God they suck.

The 1st inning kids (GBCP & Simp) recall we messed around with Kershaw YES “a run will be scored in 1st”. Profitable

    Kershaw's first-inning ERA this year is 6.00.

Clayton Kershaw has allowed a first-inning HR in 4 of his last 6 starts.

    — Ken Gurnick (@kengurnick)
Kershaw has allowed 10 of his 27 HRs in the first inning.

..and you wanna be my latex salesman, Friedman?

I can keep busting you and Kershaw up all day Druff.

This is gonna be remembered as the Yom Kippur Massacre.

    god bless

Kershaw has been grist for the forum for so long.

There really is no counter argument anymore.

    Kinda sad

Oh yeah, Dodgers are the dumbest
