3% withdrawal fee (no cap) on Party Poker

I am a US player so this doesn't really concern me but I thought it might be an interesting topic.

    http://www.pocketfives.com/f10017/an...-there-683227/

One poster said "so basically they just stole 3% of everyone's roll...." sounds fucked up but true

    Wow, that's terrible.

Players should never be charged a withdrawal fee unless they are aware of it up front when they deposit, or if sufficient warning is given to where everyone can withdraw before that who doesn't like it.

    Did Party give any warning?

Are there ways to withdraw to other methods (i.e. not Skrill) to where the fee doesn't apply?

this is at least a couple weeks old. It started off on a Russian forum, but there was never any confirmation of this outside of Russians (and even that was kinda hit or miss for verifiable info). You can start here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...ostcount=11179 and read from there if you're interested.

I stopped following it when it pretty much went nowhere and there was never a verifiable source or statement. Not a single poker media outlet picked up the story either and I know a few were looking into it.

*edit* lol, so the day after I write this PokerFuse published an article on it (see post below)

    Hi,
I'm from Poland and play on Bwin and WPT (party Poker skins - the same payment procesor - pay-pro).
There is 4US + 3% withdrawal fee for me also (Skrill and Neteller). In english section of Poker strategy says that everybody are paying these fees.
I can see in WPT cashier that only Neteller and Skrill withdrawal option have sucha scummy fees.
    Well played by bwinparty

edit: there was no warning before

    Seems pretty straightforward to me:

    https://cashier.partyaccount.com/faq..._ID=en_US&ctg=

Seems like every country has different fees for different methods: http://pokerfuse.com/news/poker-room...drawals-20-08/

Kind of an odd change to make on the fly unless Skrill/Neteller and others have been hammering them with fees and they had no choice

I seen a write up on this on pokerfuse:

    http://pokerfuse.com/news/poker-room...drawals-20-08/

This seems asinine of Party Poker to do this when ROW players have several other options besides Party that don't charge fees including the biggest two in Stars and FTP.

I got an email(on their server) from them telling me my account has been inactive & after 180 days they will charge me a monthly fee if I don't play a raked hand or enter a cash tourny.

    They have to be kidding.

That is hilarious. I've never been a fan of any business charging a dormant fee but for a company like Party Poker who loses nothing keeping your account active but has the ability to gain a lot in the future if you come back means this is terrible logic and makes no sense.

In fact, this is the reason a lot of sites like Bovada just throw their members $10 or sometimes much more when they haven't played in a while because they realize the person might come back and make them money down the road whether it's playing poker or getting the user hooked on whatever they do that they make a new deposit.

Anyways, I called support after I realized I had just missed out on a 100% deposit bonus up to $500. I asked if they would honor it & was told no. I then asked if there was any other reload bonus they could offer me? I was again told there was nothing at this time. Really????? Absolutely nothing?????
I then told him if there was nothing available that I would uninstall their software & would never play there again if I was going to get charged the dormancy fee & they couldn't offer me some kind of reload bonus.

I've now uninstalled their program from my computor. My wife will be happy.

They are becoming too businesslike for online poker imo. This is the kind of bottom-line stuff you get from big chains. It's a strange line to take but perhaps they think bleeding people for every nickel will turn a bigger profit than bringing in more players (or keeping their current players loyal).

I got that email at least 5 years ago and told them if they charged me any dormant fee I would withdraw the rest and never play there again. I followed through with no regrets. I was making too much money on UB to be able to justify playing anywhere else at that time.

When UB went bust I moved over to Stars where I also had a bunch of dormant money. Fuck Party with shit like that. I also had a dispute with Tilt which allowed me to have 0 dollars on their site when they busted. They refused to give me rakeback.

The thing is. I'm their dream customer.

I'll deposit $50-$100 every 6 months/year & run it up to $600-$700 playing poker & then blow almost all of it on drunken blackjack one night. I'll leave the last $30 in my account & won't play for 3 months then run it up again to $500 on poker & blow it again because I have this stupid belief that internet blackjack can somehow be beaten.

Ask them to block the blackjack from your client. Most of these sites will give you the run around but usually their is a setting they can block it.

I got Carbon to block mine after a while which I only played on it twice which I crushed it once then all the sudden got beat by like seven or eight 6 and 7 card blackjacks I was like screw this. I know it was rigged but I still donated a few dollars.

Bovada blocked my blackjack in the client and casino on the website and I got ACR to block the casino in the poker client too.

A few of these places gave me the run around but I was persistent that I will leave their site if they don't block these for me and they did it, however, from what is being said about Party Poker it seems they don't give a shit if they lose members.

I don't think I have ever posted the story here about how I beat internet BJ on UB. I know I discussed it with Druff back on DD and sent him the proof in the form of HH but not sure if he ever went over them. I started researching to see if the same could be done with poker but it got complicated and I gave up. Then the site blew up and it was not longer something worth doing.

Cliffs on the story was they generated a fixed number of shoes, turned out to be 100 of them and then reused them. Players in the know got greedy and then UB found the issue and closed it (by generating 10000000 shoes)

That's the only time I ever played $500 a hand BJ and I only did it on a known shoe for hands I knew I would win. Fun game and they honored every withdrawal I made.

That would be a dream scenario. Chart the shoes & win big.

A lot of sites are wacking players for this type of stuff now.

    A site I play on charges a 2.7 % fee on wires

Some sites charge $35-50 per check

I am pretty sure players get Rakeback on skrill deposits (they def can if they dont)meaning if they make a large deposit somewhere u get a certain % reimbursed from skrill AND I think it works the same way with withdraws. If not one then it works for the other. The sites are left to flip the bill on this stuff too so I can't really blame them for going this route

For Americans sure they can wack us all they want and just say "We at least still serve you and at least are a US site that actually pays you", but for ROW players this is still shitty when they have other options that don't charge especially a few big ones in Stars and Party.

With that said if I agree with you to some point. If I was someone outside the USA I would look into all options I have and regarding fees if your able to make that up with better rakeback deals or the overall softness of the play on the site then it can be worth it.
