For the first time in major league history a team has hit a grand slam in 4 consecutive games.
Padres
Never thought the NL West would ever amount to anything in my lifetime but I’m following every night.
Tatis at bat prior to Hosmer’s grand slam was amazing
I kept thinking about 1986 Clemens and his 20 strike out record against another woeful Mariners team.
This, of course, is the very core of the Kershaw myth.
He looked good for vintage Kershaw. If anything he is getting better.
Good grief, I do not mean to conflate Clemens and Kershaw. Apologies in advance to the Clemens family
Yeah, Clemens won’t get in the Hall of Fame either
Who knows, maybe Kershaw appreciates the artistic endeavor of a show like "Cuties"
Kershaw actually seems like a good, albeit boring Christian boy, who doesn't have skeletons in the closet.
He married the first girl he ever dated. Doubt he has ever done drugs. Probably has never done roids and never likely will. Probably doesn't cheat on his wife when on the road, even during non-COVID times.
He has a bit of a temper, and gets over-emotional when pitching. That was his enemy in the playoffs for awhile. Then his enemy became his arm simply wearing down.
Roger Clemens was a degenerate. He was also in the Barry Bonds category -- a naturally great player who would have been in the HOF without roids, but just couldn't pass up the temptation to still be dominant in their later years.
They could use Mets games for torture at Gitmo. #1 in NL for AVG and OBP but dead last in the MLB for RISP... unbelievable
Tickle, how did a lifelong European resident like yourself become a Mets fan, of all things? Did you develop an affinity for them circa 2000, when you were a young kid?
Maybe you answered it on radio before, but if you did, I forgot.
Can't complain about the Dodgers overall, but the Giants have been a pain in the ass. Somehow that Giants failteam has won 7 in a row. This was an ugly one, though, as the Dodgers blew 3 leads in the first 9 innings, including 3-0 and 6-3.
There's no lockdown guy in the bullpen right now which is trouble for the postseason. I have no doubt they will cruise to be the #1 seed in the regular season. Like last year, the team is well equipped to dominate the regular season. The playoffs scare me though.
Dated a girl from Queens (Jewish, no less) for 3 years, 2012-2014. Spent 3 summers in New York and saw the likes of Harvey, Wheeler, Syndergaard, and DeGrom coming up, and the last good years of David Wright. Was hard not to fall in love with the team. Luckily for me, the NY timezone is quite kind for Europe so I get a chance to watch a lot of games.
Pretty sure MLB is about to have a job opening for commissioner:

i mean again this comes down to one thing...money...
manfred knows his ass is up against it with the owners...im sure they know their point of least pain (ie number of games they have to deliver to the networks/locals) when it comes to the TV money...that's their only lifeline at this point...
doesnt appear that the owners think that the "goodwill" of the protests outweighs their bottom line...
Turns out it wasn't Manfred's idea after all, but a plan from the worst owner in the MLB. Thanks, Jeff.
(Or maybe Wilpon taking the fall?)

Is Lance Lynn going to become Dodger or pitch against the Dodgers Saturday? Wow.
This ain’t your usual stupid Dodgers front office this year. First Mookie now actually getting tooled up for playoffs. Uh oh.
All the traditional assumptions might be history. Yankees are hurt. I might invest in a futures play .... I have NEVER bet Dodgers to win EVER.
The fake crowd noise in baseball sucks so bad. Way worse than all other sports.
Padres just absolutely raped the Indians for Clevinger.
"Here, take 6 guys we don't need, and none of our top prospects"
Dodgers gotta watch their back Druff.
