A New Jersey man who was the victim of horrifying police brutality after getting kicked out of an Atlantic City casino is suing the cops, according to reports.

Despite the vicious attack, 20-year-old David Connor Castellani faces charges for attempted assault on an officer, resisting arrest and attempting to harm a police dog.

The attempting to harm a police dog accusation is perhaps the most dumbfounding since the video surveillance of the attack shows the dog biting the victim while he was defenseless.

The possible reason the victim was kicked out of the Tropicana casino? According to Opposing Views, a local news report stated that it was because Castellani was underage.

The video aired Friday on a New Jersey TV station.

The attack occurred in the early morning hours of June 15.

According to Castellani’s father, the incident left him with permanent injuries, including nerve damage and some paralysis. Press of Atlantic City reported that the victim’s mother said that his head “looked like Hamburger Helper” after the savage beating.

“I certainly don’t see aggravated assault on a police officer or a K-9. Quite frankly, I don’t see resisting, either,” the lawyer for the victim told Press of Atlantic City.

One of the cops involved in the assault reportedly has had at least three similar allegations made against him prior to Castellani’s beating, but was allowed to remain a cop.

Despite the alleged use of extreme violence to arrest Castellani, the police department doesn’t think there was any misconduct. The chief of police told NBC10: “I saw the tape, and I saw no reason to suspend or remove the officers from their regular duties.”

Meanwhile the Lakeland PD in Florida is facing a mounting investigation of police corruption and sexual misconduct. Sadly the cops anymore just cant be trusted it seems because too many abuse their authority and make a bad name for the few decent guys who actually take their jobs seriously and with respect.

Born and raised not far from there, honestly have been on the boardwalk many a drunk nights and dealt with the police on different occasions. If this kids dad was not a NJ attorney, I would guess this wouldnt be a high profile case at all. Atlantic City cops are always on edge, with the amount of real crime they have to deal with. It makes no sense they would just beat this young 20 something kid up for no reason. I think mom and dad might not be fessing up to the fact their son was either drunk, on drugs, or out of sorts. These cops deal with guns and gangs, and really bad stuff.

They just don't beat up kids like this who look decent, and are well to do. My gut tells me, if dad wasnt an attorney, we would be hearing much about this case.

One of my best friends since pre-k to this day's dad is a head judge of a very prominent court in north NJ, my freind has a way sometimes that he cant get in trouble. I think this is the kind of case you need to wait untill all the details come out before making a decision. Keep in mind, kids dads a lawyer.

A.C cops have a really tough job as is, and arent paid great, the last thing they ever want to do is beat up the younger demographic there, spending money, and having a good time.

Not to sound cliche, but this is what they mean by Jersey strong. Their is a lot of people, diversity, and crime. This type of reaction inst actually too abnormal assuming their is probable cause.
