When I played the O8 event at the WSOP last year, it was my first time playing 4-card poker live, and I probably looked like a bumbling idiot. All of my experience was in Bovada cash games. However, lots of the players at the table sucked, and one of the other players at the table made a remark like, "That's because you play good" when I told him that I could have fucked him in a huge pot had I chased the low with A2 in a multiway. So I felt like less of a live fish at that point.
However, I also made like zero hands the whole way, so I lasted a few hours before going DD.
Yeah no doubt will take a little getting used to playing live vs online but really if i do look like a complete fish at first this is a good thing imo
I'd much rather have people thinking i was a random donk tourist that someone who can actually play the game, I've heard from quite a few other people that there are lots of terrible o8 players in the events at the wsop so should be a good spot
Just landed a few hours ago and seen on bravo there is an $80 o8 mtt at the orleans tonight so figure thats a good place to start transitioning into live 4 card pokers for sure ill try get in as many hands as possible before i play a 1500 o8 mtt but doesnt look like there are many casino's here that spread it unfortunately

speaking as someone who has played O8 for the past decade plus, I'm gonna guess if you have any experience playing O8 youll be better than 50% of the field right off the bat...if you are marginal at it you're better than 75% of the field...O8 is full of a bunch of fucking mongs...

Ok so was wondering if anyone here can answer a few questions i've got about the Big O cash games i've heard run a bunch when the series is on ?
Are they all just 5 card O8 or do they have 5 card PLO too ?
Also are the games all fixed limit or a mix or FL and PL ?
What are the stakes that run ?
Are the games mainly at the Rio or are there other rooms that will have them too ?
Much appreciated if anyone can clear all or some of that up
last time I was there in '12 so take this with a grain of salt...
all of the games I saw were 5 card O8 only and they were PL...rio ran 2/5-5/10 and think it was uncapped (could be wrong)...
didn't check if any other rooms were running it, but if there were your best bet is probably venetian/orleans/nugget...
