I am not a big Jeopardy watcher but aren't the Daily Doubles randomly put in a spot? If so how does jumping around the board help you get them?

I think the assumption is that it's less likely that the daily double will be in the $100 position. By going randomly and picking items higher up:
1. You get more money faster which means you can wager more money when the daily double comes up.
2. You leave less money on the board in case the round ends before the board is complete.
No. It's because they're not random that going for middle-value questions tends to work.
You could hunt for them just as efficiently by going 400/600/800 in a category, then moving to the next. A big reason for switching categories is to throw off opponents. Especially when there's tricky categories like Rhyme Time or ones that require answers with a certain word or letter. You know that you're about to switch to that category, so you're ready for it. Everyone else's brain has to catch up.
That's the main reason viewers got so pissed off about it. They get confused and forget what the categories are. It's even worse because of the dollar amounts, because normally a category switch starts at $400, so if you slip up it's no big deal. When Alex suddenly shifts to "answer this question in the form of a roman numeral" for $1600 nobody at home knows whats going on.

that was pretty entertaining to watch
so since he won he came back on Monday?
anyone got a link for a video on his 2nd go-round?
good lookin out Drex... im guessing since there is no Tuesday show, that he didnt parlay it once again... still pretty respectable to pwn jeopardy for one day though
Lol. He owned them today like none of the two previous shows. Going into final jeopardy he had like a 20k + lead. It was all locked up for him with half the board remaining in Double Jeopardy.
He will be the back at it tomorrow for day 4.
BTW, he is whoisalexjacob on twitter. If you have some free time, look at some of the thousands of tweets at him. Multiple girls straight up telling him to message him if they want to fuck, people saying he is some asperger savant, people loving his gambling style. I never knew that there was such a twitter following of jeopardy. Also, you can just search #jeopardy on twitter. It's all about him. Pretty fucking amazing actually.
ZoD

When you take the #Jeopardy test, remember you might be in for this…
Brandon, I can't find the tweets where girls are offering to fuck Alex.
Can you post them here?
Alex is going to be the next Ken Jennings.
