Ante Up podcast breifly mentioned ignition/Bovada will no longer accept US customers.

During The last "Ante Up Poker" podcast It was briefly mentioned that ignition and bovada would longer be accepting US customers.Due to there regulator supposedly making a deal with New Jersey gambling representatives. That part might have been speculation on there part.
I haven't seen any info on this any where else.
Can anyone verify this is true,or post a link to some info?

Ignition is a USA only skin of the Bodog network. Why are so many people not understanding that they dodged the US regulations for years switching urls (moving away from .com), branching off from Bodog to Bovada.lv for us customers, and now to Ignition for USA players. They will continue to not accept a few states like usual but why on earth would they even do the Ignition (US only) switch in the first place if they were intending to leave the US market?

I just don't get how some people who are trying to be industry experts have such flawed logic in assumptions they are making.

For those worried about licensing it's not as if other sites who had some license in the jurisdictions they were located in didn't close up and have nothing really happen to them. It is nothing different so you are better off going with a company that has a good reputation for around a long time like Bodog/Bovada/Igntion that has made a lot of money in it's time then these smaller upstarts.

I have zero issue connecting and playing on the ignition site from Las Vegas though I did set my account up with my new address in Arizona. Same goes with carbon I can play poker and wager sports but can't play casino games...no issues with bovada sports book in Vegas or Betonline

    Yep

If you have another address you registered for them to have on file for verification purposes then you should be able to play.

Any site can track your IP it's just they probably won't waste their time looking into it unless they see a strong need to do so. I have heard a few instances where Ignition has "supposedly" done this but those people saying this could just be full of it.

Live and play in NJ, have a FL license and address though. Got this message last week.

Ignition account seems fine though, although I've only deposited and played for maybe an hour total since signing up.

^^^ - blocking NJ players makes more sense then any other state else considering NJ is the reason Ignition was created due to parting ways with Kahnawake licensing which has always been a joke anyways.

Now that I think about it the players I heard about that got this same email you did I believe were all in NJ.

Ignition is claiming they will close any account playing from a restricted state, so watch out.

I think it's just New Jersey trying to push out the competition.

Online poker has been a fail there. The online casinos have done decently (though still way below initial projections), but online poker has been an epic fail.

Remember when all the idiots were predicting that Pokerstars NJ would be a game changer?

Yeah... when the dust settled, they're not even the #1 legalized NJ poker site. WSOP is actually beating them.

The small/medium state legalized online poker model simply does not work.

It's hard to gain a player pool.

According to PokerScout WSOP NV/DE and WSOP/888 NJ have more traffic then Pokerstars NJ but it's not by much.

These sites have around 280 to 330 cash players during peak hours with a 7 day average around 120 players. This is a huge failure because many people are likely playing 5c/10c NL and other various micro stakes that don't make the network much money.

The key is getting enough people playing most of the day where others see it and want to make a deposit to play. I'm sure some people login to these state legalized sites only to see a ghost town and pass. If a network can get enough consistent people playing others will take interest but this is the challenge.

Of course you are limited to a states population but if you are going to tell me that New Jersey who has 9 million people can only get 300 people playing online poker during peak times then these sites aren't trying hard enough. Their are more people playing in live poker games of $1/2 or higher at the Borgata during peak hours then that.

Since I don't live in NJ I'm unsure if Pokerstars aggressively advertised but they should have with all the resources such as their email/physical mailing address database prior to Black Friday where they could have sent out tons of promotional stuff giving people freeroll tickets, deposit bonuses,etc...

I'm not saying it would ever be a huge success because it won't be but only having 300 players during peak hours is an embarrassment.
