Home team run line is the bane of my existence. I learned to quit it.
With that said, let's see multiple runs here in the 8th!
Oh no.
Haha…served up a meatball to Taylor….goooo Dodgers!
Congrats dodgers fans. And me. They were too good to lose some shitty one game playoff with 106 wins.
well that's a fucking way to cash the race to 3 runs bet...
trying to think if winning the LAD race to 3 runs in that spot is more fucked up than winning that PIT no runs first inning bet where ke'bryan hayes hits a home run, misses first base and is called out...
i gotta fucking stop betting...
Was watching with Ben.
Ben kept saying he was "nervous" that the Dodgers were going to wreck their entire season in one game. I felt the same way.
Cards can look back at the decision to put in the struggling Reyes, but the truth is that they were in this position because the shat the bed over and over when it came to runners in scoring position. I believe they were 0-for-11. Credit some of that to the Dodgers pitching (especially the bullpen), but a lot of that was probably nerves where they just didn't deliver in the clutch.
Props to Cody Bellinger for drawing that walk when I was sure he was going to strike out to end the 9th, and props to Chris Taylor for getting out of his own head, and ended a horrible 3-month slump with a highly memorable walkoff shot which made Dodgers fans breath easier.
Here we go.
As the Brewers and Braves are locked in a pitcher's duel, I await the Dodgers/Giants starting at 6:37 PT.
Buehler vs Webb
Both pitchers have had some struggles lately, but both with excellent overall numbers for 2021.
SF will be without Brandon Belt and Johnny Cueto (lol at the latter) for the NLDS.
Dodgers will be without Max Muncy and Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw out for the year, while Muncy might also be. Both missing the NLDS for sure.
David Price made the NLDS roster, to Sanlmar's delight. Expect to see him in blowout games.
I've meant to post about this before, but Rowdy Tellez (who just hit the go-ahead 2-run HR in the 7th) was a great pickup for the Brewers.
The guy has a lot of raw power and has a lot of potential, but just can't quite get it together. He was terrible for Toronto this year, but he got new life in a new environemnt in Milwaukee, and had an OPS of over .800, while always being a power threat.
Not surprising to see him as the difference maker here. As an opponent, I hate facing guys like that in the late innings.
Even if he isn't an every day player, he is an asset off the bench. Brewers didn't give up much for him, either.
Dodgers not having home field advantage is a tough one for them here. They were a dominant 58-23 at home, and 48-33 on the road. Giants were 54-27 at home, and an almost equivalent 53-28 on the road. So the Dodgers definitely played way better at their home park, whereas the Giants seem to be about the same team either way.
Not that one guy could have undone a 4-run deficit, but I kinda feel Max Muncy wouldn't have done all the chasing of pitches which the Dodgers did in game 1. He's not only their best power hitter, but also the best at plate discipline. Could have been infectious and changed everything.
Dodgers just aren't quite the same team on the road that they are at home, though. And Walker Buehler is clearly tired.
Hopefully Urias saves them again.
If the Dodgers are gonna insist on playing Bellinger when Urias is pitching Bellinger should bat 9th.
Edit
Apparently he responds well to hate.

Bellinger finally makes good (aside from walking in the wildcard game).
Huge 2-RBI double, then Pollock does the same.
6-1 Dodgers in the 6th now. They basically had to win this one, now it's looking very good.
maybe Bellinger has figured out how to hit to the opposite field....he is now choking up on the bat a little, going for contact and hitting the outside pitch to the opposite field...i noticed the choke up in the previous at bat...he has usually held the bat with his hands on the knob, but this last 2 times there was an inch of bat sticking out below his right hand. but SF is still playing him with a Ted Williams like shift...btw last at bat he grounded one foul up the third base line
