A few things that will burn you:

- Heavy favorites aren’t “almost guaranteed” to win. In Baseball especially they lose a lot more often than you think
- He’s still not looking at the pitching matchups. If he was he’d realize that the Cardinals and Marlins actually have pretty good pitchers going today. Could be bad news for the Giants and Dodgers.
- if any of those games involving the heavy favorites gets rained out you are guaranteed to lose money because neither the White Sox nor Twins will pay you even money on what would then be a straight bet.

Bottom line…if two of the heavy favorites lose you’ve got a losing day. If only one heavy favorite loses you’re either breaking even or maybe profiting a tiny bit

The reality of the whole thing is that since you’re donating $50 back to the house the White Sox/Twins game really isn’t doing anything for you. You’re basically winding up with the same potential gain (actually it will be a few dollars less) on your two $50 bets as compared to if you had just made a $100 straight bet on the heavy favorite. But of course our first grade math genius doesn’t see this. It would be a couple of dollars difference because both the teams are slightly in the minus…but it’s essentially the same bet…and you’re relying on the same team to win.

There are no guarantees Chrissy. You’re dreaming if you think the sports books haven’t figured all this out.

Let’s compare it to Baccarat. Lets say you want to place a $100 bet on Banker. You are there with your wife who wants to bet $100 on player. You place both bets on the table. $100 player and $100 banker. Banker wins, you must give the casino $5 for commission. You win $95. If you would have held both $100 chips in your hand and settled after the hand finished you get the entire $100. Anytime you are betting both sides of the line that has the same point spread, you are giving free money to the bookie. There are certain situations you can “Hedge” both sides of the line if you are betting the same game but with different point spreads, but this is so far beyond your understanding that your pea brain is not capable of comprehending that I’m not even going to explain it.

Chrissy, I guess this may be directed somewhat at me. I have posted my golf picks here every week for some time now. This week I hit a 7.5-1 on the LPGA. I lost the other three.
