Stake Blog/ Report since Friday
Hate when my sleep pattern gets screwed up. I had a lot of energy on Friday morning around the time when I usually go to bed so I went out and ran errands and before I knew it the clock read 3PM!!! Normally I would have been sleeping by then for a crisp 8 hours and waking up @ 5 or 6 PM to play. I should have just slept in the morning and kept the same schedule cause it has been doing me well but now I have to adjust again.
So Friday night I woke up on short sleep (about 4 hours) and went into Boston to meet "Dan Druff" for some Pizza. After that I drove home and stayed awake until about 5 AM and then fell asleep. I woke up around noon and ran a few errands. I then came home and slept a couple hours and felt fresh. I grinded the night shift and then before I knew it the clock read 12 PM and I was exhausted but I had to be somewhere by 5 PM. I slept for 3.5 hours and then went to a birthday dinner for a close friend of mine. After that I watched the opening episode of the walking dead and by the end of that I was exhausted. I fell asleep around 10 PM and woke around 2:30 PM. I went and pciked up a coffee from dunkin donuts and tried to grind a bit but the action was dead.
I then came home and was not feeling fresh enough to play so I watched some TV and fell asleep around 12 again and I woke up @ 4 PM to get ready for my podcast @ 6pm. I did the podcast and that went well and I planned on playing after but I still wasn't feeling like I had a clear head so I caught up on more sleep and I woke around 4:30 AM today and loaded tables around 6 AM. Problem is the action is so dead around this time of day.
Moral of the story is staying up those extra hours I stayed up Friday really threw a wrench into my sleep cycle and my playing times. But that is one thing about playing online poker that can really be a pain in the ass sometimes. It is great because you set your own schedule but everyone else who works 9-5 is on a totally different schedule than you and when you have plans with people or prior engagements things can get a little twisted. Even right now I am probably caught up on sleep but I feel groggy because I have been sleeping 4 hr intervals here and there. I feel awake and alert but not as fresh as if I slept a nice steady 8 hrs.
So the main thing I want to accomplish today is to get back to grind start time of anywhere between 7PM and 11 PM and playing through the night. Since the action is dead around this time I am going to go and knock out any errands that need to get done so I have less things to do during the week and focus solely on grinding. Then I will grind some afternoon hours and maybe catch a little sleep and then hopefully be ready to go for the overnight shift starting tonight.
Overall I am pleased with where we are at on the stake. We started out good and peaked around $31,500 or so. Then hit that downswing that knocked us down to 20k and some change. I hate downswings like that but when 4-6 tabling at times they are inevitable. I felt like I couldn't win a pot through that whole downer and I took some sick sick sick beats daily over and over. But then everything shifted again and we are now back to around $32,500. So overall in about 11 weeks be have close to 10k total profit.
Plan now is to finish strong over the final 16 days of this thing and then I plan to run another with the same terms.
