Some decent points but this exact sentiment can probably be found at nearly every point in American history by an aging guy bemoaning how it ain't like it was back then.

The difference is that most of the essay wasn't whining about 'dem loud kids and 'der loud music. Yeah, I guess the Cardi B part was a little of that, but most of the essay was pointing out the 2020's supposed icons of cool were acting lame and cringey.
The "Imagine" video, which he referenced near the beginning, is a good example of this. We didn't have that in previous generations. All the people he referenced actually
were cool in their day, and they didn't do stupid shit like this -- at least not stuff made for public consumption.
Look how many celebrities got together for this, and not one realized how tone-deaf and embarrassing it was.
He's basically pointing out that American culture, while once emulated and admired from afar, has turned into a combination of conspiratorial right wingers and hypersensitive left wingers, and it all just looks stupid.
I can't argue with that.
