McConnell is rightfully concerned that contesting any state's EVs in congress will make Republicans look bad. Again, it's unnecessary strife and accomplishes nothing but signaling their disloyalty to the president. There are MILLIONS of Trump fanatics that are more loyal to their leader than to the party. This is going to piss them off even more.

And it seems that at the very least, Rand Paul is going to be a pain in McConnell's ass

This will also force Congress to be in session in the week between Christmas and New Year's.
