There really should be a hybrid in all places now -- ZOOM classes for parents who want it for their kids, and regular school for parents who want that. There are a lot of parents -- especially in minority neighborhoods where the average age of parents is younger than in white neighborhoods -- who want to send their kids back.

How is the ZOOM scenario playing out for you?

I can't imagine what it's like for parents working from home trying to keep the average 5-8 year old focused or at least not a complete distraction to them. I think your son is older but have to imagine it's still pretty brutal.

It is working okay. My son is 10. Not something I would want long term, but I don't think it's doing much long-term harm, especially since all kids are in this boat.

The one good thing is that we can actually see what's going on in school, rather than having the usual limited visibility when he's in a normal classroom. Sometimes I sit on the side off-camera and make sure he stays focused.

My partner at work just tested positive, we shared a work truck Friday. My work just sent me home with pay, I go back the 18th. I’m really enjoying the covid hype! Most my friends and family have had it, zero deaths, zero issues most complain of fatigue. I had zero issues when I had it. I’ve been around probably 6-7 people who had covid, very long periods and very close contact. I’ve never gotten it again. Maybe this is the time lol

She got diabetes when prego with her 2nd baby and then got covid and that destroyed her kidneys

She was quite healthy before covid..considering she is diabetic. Not overweight decent diet doesn't drink or smoke.

I guess its semi good news least she isnt dead and her kids still have their mom but it's sickening and im beyond pissed off about it and so is the rest of my family

For some reason she was working in retail leading up to her getting this. Now, she has been in the hospital for 8 days and cant keep any food down.

I would be a dick to bring up the obvious here but considering she is still dealing with this, my cousin( who cant even see her) has taken work off this week and doesnt even want me visiting and wants to be alone

Brrrrrrr it's fucking cold. Just got back from a training run and it was only 50 degrees. Can't imagine how you Gringos up north deal with this. More people will congregate inside. More COVID cases will be coming. At least in SoFla we can still do stuff outside. If it was 20 degrees, no fucking way.
