just saw this on twitter and its kind of a cherry on a cake of concern for left wing violence thats been percolating in me all morning.
like when people talk about influence campaigns, what people with direct knowledge of those tactics understand is that the goal is to create a state of artificial emotional fertility for circumstances you desire.
so when COINTELPRO went after the black panthers / civil rights movement etc, they would make sure everyone involved was as angry as possible then make sure opportunities arose for all those emotions to spill out as violence. and i dont know whose doing it on the left right now but its happening and its working.
and (god help me) joe rogan has perfectly encapsulated why its a fucking nightmare scenario, because all these 'operators' in michigan etc are being fed the same diet of artificially hot takes and trump stalling on conceding so he can pay off his campaign debts could be lit match here.
