If Dems controlled the White House when RGB died and Mitch didn't declare Obamas nomination 'Null and Void' because it was an election year, I don't think they would have. They have some degree of political protection because of Garland.

I'm going through some Texas voter data, and it's pretty insane that some counties have already received more votes than the TOTAL number of votes in 2016. So I looked at Harris county (Houston) and learned some new things. They have drive-through voting locations, which I have never heard of. And they also have 24/7 voting locations, which I have definitely never heard of.

So if you live in Houston you can go in person and cast your vote at 3am tonight. Wild.

That is true but the point is you said it was the will of the people, and it was not the will of the people. The rules are set up to counter the will of the people.

If the will of the people made the decisions, Gore and Hillary would have been president. The Senate and the EC make it so that the will of certain people is far more important than the will of others.

The EC exists so all states have a say instead of a couple highly populated states always deciding the fate of the country. You take away the EC and New York and California will decide every single president. In 2016, if you take away the California landside I believe Trump got more votes in the other 49 states combined (not 100% sure).

A couple of highly populated states always decide the presidency. It's just not necessarily the very top of the list. This year it's FL and PA, the 3rd and 6th largest states. In recent years it's been FL and OH. Soon it will be GA and AZ which is poised to become one of the largest states.

There's campaigning in half a dozen states, and the message is tailored to a small segment in each state. All the rest of them, large and small, are ignored. There are millions of Republicans in California and no get out the vote operation for them, nobody listening to their concerns. Likewise millions of Democrats in the deep south.

They both bother me. The speakers of both lines eventually had to accommodate reality and make choices that broke their promises/made their statements seem like lies depending on how you look at it. It would have been better for both of them to be honest and give more detail from the beginning. Americans don't do nuance well.
