This is probably a good time to discuss Bovada again.
Bovada calls itself a "recreational book", and that's accurate.
They will kill your prop bets (or lower them to $25 max) if you even slightly show you have the ability to win with them. They will lower your limits on betting if you demonstrate you take the sharp side fairly often, regardless of whether or not you're winning.
They have two different sets of lines -- ones for sharp bettors, and ones for square bettors.
"Sharp" bettors are defined as ones who tend to take the same side as other sharps -- usually a fair number of dogs and unders, whereas squares tend to take the public positions -- favorites, overs, and MLB -1.5 lines.
You start out with square lines. They might move you to sharp lines. To see which one you have, log in, and then open a second window in Incognito Mode and don't log into that second window. Compare lines. If you see a difference in some of them, you have the sharp lines.
Bovada also has crappy spreads on moneylines. So they're usually bad for MLB moneyline betting.
So why are they useful? Occasionally they have an outlier line, even for the sharps, which will be better for you than other books. Sadly I have been lowered to $100-$200 max bets (depending upon the sport), so they have limited usefulness to me.
I would recommend getting on a reputable book such as BetOnline or 5Dimes (or both), as those have better lines, and in fact you can get some nice lines on 5Dimes if you sign up for "Reduced Juice", and then click on the "Reduced" option for each sport.
