Cordero is a broadway actor, discovered he had COVID-19 on March 20, was hospitalized on March 30 and everything has fallen apart, including a leg amputation.
Cordero's situation is uncommon for 41-year-olds, who typically show moderate to severe symptoms, but usually aren't hospitalized if they don't have major preexisting conditions.
It's certain that he will have long term lung and perhaps heart damage if he survives his, and has already lost a leg. What a mess.

This is a pretty sensational story, but part of what makes it sensational is how rare it is for someone in this age group, especially a dude with kids. Most of the anecdotes of guys in this age group with very bad outcomes seem like it is single (oftentimes gay) dudes.
I really do wonder if there is some cross reaction with antibodies from other cold viruses. Since my kid started going to school I have probably had more colds in the last 3 years than the 20 years before that, and I do wonder if there might be something there as far as some partial built in immunity.
The Broadway actor's condition is called shitty luck. I worked with a guy years ago who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was dead in 9 months. He was 32. Best I remember my company did not go on lockdown. Two weeks later his office was filled by a new employee and we went on with our lives.

I must have put on 15 lbs in 3 months and lost all my muscle.
I figure since Im in NYC, I have another 2 months before gyms open so Im gonna bite the pillow and spring for a treadmill. $1500 is my budget. Going to most likely resell it end of year.
