Reality is that very few people were onboard early. And if you tried to shut down the country in January the entire US population would have told the government to fuck off. It took time to ramp up to the shut down.
I think the US has variables that other countries don't which resulted in the high infection rate. ie large volume of average flights from China to US and population density of the east coast. 80% of the people are spreading it around while asymptomatic combined with those other factors equals a lot of body bags. Hell, a couple weeks ago they just started having mandatory close downs of the subway to sanitize. Putting that blame on Trump is laughable. Hypothetically, If Trump didn't deliver when Cuomo said he needed 140,000 ventilators and that resulted in extra deaths then ya that would have been Trump's fault, but that didn't happen now did it? Seriously, how can't you put much of the blame for deaths in NYC on local and state government? What should Trump have done differently?
