Dude, in Akron there are 1900 homeless STUDENTS. So, no school and very difficult to get them chrome books to continue learning WHILE THEY ARE HOMELESS. You need to pull your head out of twinks asses and see wtf is going on and how much worse it is for them, and will be for many more once corona is done shitting on the world.

The main reason it didn’t matter who was in charge is that the virus spread in the US far before the World reacted to it. The virus was in China in November and there’s 20,000 flights a week from China to the US. If it wasn’t in the US in November it certainly was in December so it spread unchecked for 6-8 weeks. This goes for Europe as well. At that point, there’s gonna be a lot of death, it’s inevitable.
Hilarious the people in this thread that think their country did such a great job. Reality is when the world shut down the virus hadn’t spread as much in their country as it had in the US thus when measures were taken they were more effective other places. You know, exponential growth and shit.
Homeless? As in living on the street? I don't see how this is happening when rent is being postponed and students can still stay on campus. Food stamps can be received within 48-72 in emergency situations via direct deposit so how are they starving?
After a quick google search I see that this number is not because of the pandemic. I agree there is a huge issue with parents not being able to afford to raise their children for whatever reason(drugs, mental issues) but stories like this:

I believe are they very extreme case and are used to bring attention and funding to outreach organizations.

Is he facing much criticism for not doing so? If he shut them down essential workers wouldn't be able to get to work.
Probably the best move would've been to stop accepting metro cards and passed out mta passes only to essential workers.
I think today they started shutting everything down from 1-6am to sanitize everything, and they have officials on every platform making sure no car is too crowded and everyone has a mask. Shutting down the subway completely isn't really an option though.
Meanwhile De Blasio is blaming nursing homes for deaths.

This is one of those questions that will depend on what happens going forward imo. His stupid statements got us to a higher number much quicker as people acted like fools because they believed a fool, but we closed down in time where there aren’t deaths from the system being overran that I’ve seen.
That would have been on him as he would have been the main reason we had such a high number. But it didn’t happen. So if we end up with having to ride it out and rely on herd immunity, then it didn’t matter that he inflated cases. If we were to find some super effective treatment next week, then he’s probably responsible for the majority of deaths. If we end up where 70% of us eventually get this, then his idiocy didn’t really matter. That’s the way I look at it.
