I sent you a PM but it’s really an extension of what’s been written in here so far.
I dont disagree with anything Todd or anyone has said about the local poker app scene. I will say that I’m not against it as much as some others are but it has to be under the right terms.
I don’t think the apps are rigged. Just like running a sportsbook offshore the apps themselves are making money by collecting a monthly fee from the agents that run the game. As such if a cheat was found for pokrrr or poker bros or any other app everyone wouldn’t use that app to run games anymore. The apps aren’t in it for the Gamble they are in it for the technology solution. That’s where the money is just like a pay per head service in sports.
Now the above being said I think there are two conditions where the integrity of the game would be much more likely to be compromised, if posible. 1. If you are playing for “Real” money. 2. If you don’t know the people who is running/playing in the game. So to put it another way if you are playing a 100-200 Buy in NLH game with 8 guys you can name and be at thier house inside of 10 minutes I think you have the right mix for a on the level and decent game. Playing 25-50 PLO with a 5K buy in and a mandatory straddle vs Todd from LA, Daly from Florida and Thor from Norway through an agent out of Vegas and you are asking for trouble.
Assuming you “keep it moderate and keeep it local” the real question/problem is the agent you run with. It’s very similar to booking bets through someone. Where things can get problematic is when the club/agent you run with is on credit. With sports so long as the agent has a solid bank behind him (or is the bank himself) you have little to worry about. With poker clubs even a well intentioned agent can get into trouble. A well standing player can have a bad week and shoot off 5,000 and then find out he’s got the corona virus and he’s been laid off come Monday morning. If you are the big winner that week and are owed 4-5-6K well now the agent is in a tough spot. A very good agent is bankrolled for this situation and sets aside rake collected as a loss accrual but I’ve also seen situations where an agent has 2-3-4 players brick in the same week. It’s not a good situation even if the agent is otherwise well intended. This is where keeping it moderate and keeping it local helps. If your owed 15K from the Vegas agent and Thor stuffs for 30K you are fucked. If you are owed $700 and mumbles the truck driver had a cash emergency that he’s going to clean up by next week there is a very good chance it’s going to work out for you.
Hope that puts a little light on why I’d recommend finding a local guy who is reputable.
Bovada down again :LOL

People still playing on global or is it too rigged? Mulva?
ACR Customer Service is bad. My girlfriend emailed them 4 times about a problem and they haven't responded. She tried calling them and the message said there is no current phone support and to do live chat instead. Only problem, there is no live chat.
Mickey Mouse tech support.
ACR is the worst place to play by far.
Zero phone support is a disaster, unless they're like 2000s Pokerstars who had excellent customer service by e-mail.
For example, Bovada e-mail support is run by monkeys, and it's impossible to get anything resolved. You need to call up to get anything done.
If ACR lacks both live chat and phone support, that's a huge problem.
I asked guy over phone if charge rake across different limits he had no idea what I was talking about finally gave me supervisor who said no rakeback. I saw something about getting 6 percent of your losses back had no knowledge of this either. Other people in 2 plus 2 said they got apology reward, I got nothing. She claimed only people in disconnected hands were given cash rewards. I got a hot deck yesterday. Got aj board a97 guy had trips , fuck but I turned a jack and rivered an ace sweet.
shithole Bovada down again.
Ignition has some pretty good games going
Haven't played online in years, but put some money on Ignition a few days ago. Yesterday, while i'm in the middle of a couple tournaments, the site crashes. Fail. They gave me some sort of compensation for it, but below what my ICM would've been. Are they crashing because they can't handle the additional traffic? They could double all their guarantees and still be fine.
How does ACR compare, traffic wise. Bigger tournaments on ACR or smaller? Also, which is a bigger failsite? I've heard Ignition is quick with BTC cashouts. Same true for ACR? Will I have problems if I bink $15k in a tournament and try to snap cashout on either?
Also LOL at the 20% payout structure and 2.5 hour late reg on Ignition
Bovada / Igntion is crashing bc of traffic increases. They were fine for a long long while, without any crashes until this Kung Flu thing caused massive traffic increase.
Tourney fields are slightly bigger on ACR but with some obv EURO bots, both sites smash guarantees and even more so with the increased traffic. Both sites have been known to crash while having huge field mtts run but ACR has somewhat seemed to improve on this.
Both sites will pay you quickly if you bink something and want to cashout. Obv will have to submit documents once but after that its always under 24 hours to process bitcoin cashouts on both sites for me
On another note, this COVID thing might spur a boom (that no US players will ever get to experience):

That Sunday Million was redic.
I see poker in PA is now legal, and Pokerstars is operating there. Do they pool with NJ players, or is it totally segregated? PA + NJ would be 22 million people
It's very crazy the guy who won it played a few sub satellites to get in for only 25 cents. Sick ROI
