Let's consider the NBA players who were recently found to have COVID-19. Several were asymptomatic. So this is either due to testing false-positives (which I've heard are somewhat of a problem) or that there are a lot of asymptomatic COVID-19 cases out there.

It would make sense that, aside from places like the NBA where everyone exposed gets tested, the test would typically be done for those who are showing symptoms. This would REALLY skew the death rate artificially high, since the asymptomatic wouldn't get counted in the disease stats.

I am bringing this up because there is one and only one scare factor separating COVID-19 from the seasonal flu, and that's the supposed 10-30x higher death rate.

If it turns out this is another Swine Flu -- an illness said to have infected 20% of the US population but killed just 0.02%, then this is much ado about nothing, and we are ruining our economy over a "pandemic" which really is no more dangerous than the seasonal flu we've come to accept as part of normal life since all of us were born.

This really needs to be examined more closely.
I think there is a huge amount of asymptomatic folks who are falling through the cracks and not being tested.
The real death rate could be ten times lower then what's being reported... maybe less.
An old friend of mine up in Boston has it 99.9999%. He’s 40s and in relatively good shape. His doctor told him stay at home and eat chicken soup. Because he hasn’t been tested he’s not an official statistic. He’s also fairly unlikely to die. Same exact case for another buddy neighbor up near Boston.

We don’t have the tests. The death rate is way way off.

Doesn’t mean people aren’t dropping and we shouldn’t be taking this seriously.

Yup, the proof is in the pudding and it's killing plenty of people.

    Another thought.
Likely the stats on seasonal flu is also undereported by quite a large amount.

A decision to lock everything down for months would cause many, many more deaths than Corona. Humans are social beings, we are intolerable in our own personal ways and to lock people up is insane. Best just to set up triages throughout the country/world, let it run its course and move on. To think you are going to lock up 350M US people in their house longer than a week is laughable. I went to the grocery store this morning and it was packed. Half had beer, wine and booze in their cart, they will get drunk and the spouse they do not like is going to be on the receiving end. Like anyone's immune system those who can fight it off will and those that cannot will perish. But locking people in their homes will be much more severe.

One more thing, the reason this shit even starts is because people eat weird fucking animals. If people in 3rd world countires stop eating bats, monkeys and their own dogs, this shit will be eliminated or dramatically contained. I eat strictly seafood, if everyone did that the earth would not experience this shit.

    Fish = Health

    Bat = Death

WTF is going on with India?

For well over a week I've been waiting for their numbers to skyrocket.

Did a little research on their response and a lot of the info suggests they've been very proactive.

I asked a friend about the low numbers in India and he laughed and said they live in filth they have super immune systems. Don't think this is true but I'm starting to think Indians might have some sort of natural immunity.

Neighbouring country to the source of the outbreak... very odd.

I highly doubt a country of 1.1 Billion people, most of which live in total poverty, is being proactive. It's not like they have a billion tests going on, they are just waiting it out and putting out whatever press release the Prime Minister orders them to do. My guess is he is writing the press releases himself.

Exactly, huge populatiion living very close to each other and they're piss poor, not equipped like other countries.

They did do 8,000 tests to the end of February, compared to your 500 though.

    WHO has commended their response.

I'll give it another week I guess. If the corpses aren't piling up by then I'm going to believe there's more to it.

The Chinese government locked down Wuhan for nearly two months. Nobody could leave their homes for any reason. If you violated the lockdown you got shot.

ChinaMobile, who has never shown a drop in customers before January 2020, now shows that they have lost over 7 million customers since.

    Two things:

    1. home test kits will be available for individual purchase for $135. You won't have to leave your house and will have answers w/n 3 days of receiving the kit which will take 2 days. Shipping is included in the price. They have 30k of these currently available. more to come. i can find the name of the private company that is doing this if anyone cares. I believe it starts with an "A" but would be easy enough to find w/ a simple google search.

    2. imagine if this more contagious version of the flu - yes i said it- were actually something horrifying such as the measles, small pox, polio, etc. We would revert to our reptilian ways in under a week and there goes our way of life and much of our progress in the last 100 years.

I was talking about filthy people with Johnny and that they would survive this because their have hyper immune systems from constantly combating their trash environment. Johnny works for someone we call old man. 95 years old. He never showers, eats rotting food, lives in absolute filth with vermin and 30 varieties of mold, gets blowjobs from Crippler, a older man in a wheelchair with rotting teeth. Old man is a good Catholic who dulls his vision of who is blowing him for a bottle by guzzling Jesus juice.

Lol it’s true that old faggot will easily combat this shit.

Stay the fuck away from New Jersey.

You probably had a good chance of catching some shit before the coronavirus.

    New Jersey is a shithole.

So apparently ,the company EverlyWell making that test...ship the scammatar

“EverlyWell is transforming lab testing — a $25 billion market — to be simple, convenient, and useful for you,” she told the judges with a smile. Beside her sat a display of the company’s wares: mail-order test kits for everything from testosterone levels to sexually transmitted infections.

When Cheek left the stage, she had a fresh $1 million commitment from investor Lori Greiner. And the company is wowing more than just the television judges. EverlyWell garnered $6 million in sales last year, a spokeswoman said, and Cheek told the judges that this year they expected that to double.

But what EverlyWell describes as one of its best-sellers — a test for food sensitivity — is of dubious medical value, according to experts interviewed by STAT. The $199 test promises to use a fingerprick’s worth of blood to gauge whether a person’s immune system is active against 96 common foods, including asparagus, garlic, and eggs. An immune protein called immunoglobulin G, the company’s website says, could be to blame for symptoms such headaches, stomach pain, diarrhea, and fatigue.

There's videos of people collapsing on the subway. And of course police go to help out and they're not wearing a mask or anything to cover their face, and they're surrounded by other people on the subway without masks just standing around.

We saw the same thing happen in China with people falling on the street, but the people who would scoop them up were in full hazmat suits.

We are not prepared for this. 10k cases in NY state, which has a population of about one third of Italy. So it's the equivalent to having 30k cases in Italy. Aka, it's almost as bad in NY as it is in Italy already. And it's likely to get worse because of the compact nature of NYC, and the retards who are still riding the subway.

I would guess NY state will have 100k confirmed cases in 2 weeks (provided they ramp up testing).
